Apparently this talk of a rift between Moyes and the board/recruitment team is genuine as it has been reported by several reliable sources.
A fee of around £20m has been agreed with Palace for Munoz and personal terms are not an issue.
Munoz is the best RB option available to us at what is a bargain price and is just what we need. Surprise surprise Moyes is dithering because he doesn't feel that he fits his defensive system as he wants a traditional defensive RB and would prefer Johnston from Celtic.
I'm assuming that this is the same defensive system that we employed last season with a CB at RB who had extremely limited ability in that position, 2 ball watching CB's for most of the season who allowed the opposition to stroll through the middle and score numerous goals by jumping in between the pair of them unchallenged, coupled with the worst LB in the division.
To miss out on a player of Munoz quality due to the outdated tactical stubbornness of a manager from the stone age is totally unacceptable.
The game has moved on from rigid stay at home full backs. Indeed the top teams rely heavily on dynamic overlapping players who can impact both boxes and we should be doing the same.
This situation reminds me of the John Stones situation where Moyes refused to initially sanction his signing as he didn't feel that he was defensively sound enough for his system and it was left to Roberto Martinez to give Stones his chance and unlock his potential that made him a world class player.
It's like we are being visited by the ghost of Christmas past.
I think even the staunchest Moyes supporters would have to admit that the Munoz signing would be a tremendous boost to the squad and give the side another dimension.
Every time I hope that Moyes may have decided to try something different or be more flexible, he does something to really **** me off. The sooner the Scottish FA do us a favour, the better.

Spot on there, Shropshire. Criminal if this deal is on and we don't take it because of the manager.
The lad is easily in the top 5 RB's in the league and we are far from a top 5 club (atm) .

I want Moyes gone as much as anyone but who are these "several reliable sources" because I read and watch everything I can about Everton and I've only read about this fall out on here?

If it's true (and it's a whopping if) then yes, it would be a shame if we don't sign Munoz. The manager is hired to make decisions though. Back him, or don't.

What 'if' it's all absolute waffle with zero reliable sources.
Remember when Moyes used to play those those overly defensive full backs Coleman Baines. So no way he would want a quality rb like Muñoz.
Se aré still waiting on Soucek, Stones and the rest of the old players he always signs.to sign.but never signed.
I'm not a Moyes devotee and he does my head in sometimes, but there's no evidence to suggest he has said that.
What 'if' Muñoz has a better offer.

I find it all very odd.
Unless someone has a reliable link within the club and comes on here saying it's true, I'd take it with a pinch of salt.
A lot of these 'journalists' regurgitate what they have read somewhere whether true or not. It's scandalous how so much of what we hear is complete trash and likely made up.
We need a quality RB. Why wouldn't Moyes take up this offer? It doesn't make sense.

Haven't seen anything on this rift bar these pages either so it would be interesting to see some kind of validation to the rumour. How do we know it is DM who doesn't want him or if it's the recruitment team that prefer a different player? Who are the reliable sources?
If there is any substance to this rumour then it will hit the mainstream soon enough. Personally, I think it's all pie in the sky, something that has been made up, or blown out of proportion, by someone who wants DM out of the club.

I didn't say there were 5 sources, I said several.
I spoke with a gentleman last night who I hadn't seen for years who used to be linked to the club and still speaks to contacts at the club now. I said how good a signing Munoz would be and he said that a couple of people at the club had told him that there was friction between the recruitment team and the manager particularly in regards to Munoz as the recruitment team wanted him and Moyes didn't. He's always been 100% reliable and I've absolutely no reason to question his integrity. This has also been reported by a couple of journalists, one I think is Alan Nixon and I can't remember the other one.
There will be differences of opinion at every club but it is paramount that we get the very best Right Back we can and in my opinion that is Munoz.
The manager has been given the final say on transfers, which given our collapse at the end of the season TFG might live to regret.
I'm not going to throw my toys out of the pram like some have in the past, but lesson learned from me as I will not post anything on here again that I have been told in confidence so that my integrity is not brought into question. I'm sure that if there was anything wrong with my post that Ed wouldn't have passed it in the first place.
I will continue to be an avid reader of these pages and will post my opinions as and when I have something constructive to say.
{Ed025's Note - people need to read the top of the page...Transfer RUMOURS!!, if a person has heard on the grapevine or from somebody else they are very welcome to post it on here, its not called Transfer FACT, posters on other pages seem to get it guys, i hope Shropshire and others share any information they get as this is what its all about, if you dont want to hear it just scroll past it please and not let it become an issue, we need to be more tolerant of other peoples views even if we dont agree with them..

No offence intended, Shropshire.
I thought it was based purely on journalists and their random spiel. If there is an issue with Moyes putting the brakes on a RB deal, then it is certainly worrying. We don't currently have anyone, so it makes no sense for him to veto it when we have had no success on the players we actually targeted.
