The problem is the system we play means the lone striker has to do a lot of running around, closing opposition players down. You could see it yesterday with Barry literally running from one side of the pitch to the other while the rest of the team held position.
Now, I know Barry isn't the answer to our scoring problems, but there is a pattern here, we bring in strikers who can run around a lot, who work hard but can't score.
Now it's being muted that Moyes wants Delap, why, because he's a big striker who runs around a lot but can't score.
Perhaps some of the problem is in how we utilise our main striker, and just maybe it would be more beneficial to have him do less of chasing shadows, instead stay in a central position and use his energy when it mattered when we have the ball.
Just my opinion.

You've hit the nail on the head there, BrassB. This has always been a Moyes thing, not slagging him off, as pros and cons n all that. But a chance in style would absolutely benefit our strikers or any incoming striker.
Must say also, if we had actual full backs who could attack, that would help a lot to create more.

Baz is absolutely not the problem. I think in 2 or 3 tears he will be a good player. I've liked what I've seen this summer. Beto, on the other hand? He really has the touch of a 1970s British kids TV presenter. Baz in, Beto out, new 9 in would be perfect.

Beto looked shattered after 10mins yesterday. Barry had more energy in him, but needs to shoot at the goal during the match.. Pointless having a striker out in the channels. When the likes of Dibling or Ndiaye get into crossing positions, there's no one there.
