Heart would still pay significantly, and he's made a fair whack of dosh at Spurs.
Spurs are notoriously difficult. Sounds like they and his agents had other ideas, and he was never coming here.

He probably has ruined his body in the EPL. Time for half speed, and if someone's paying, well fair play. Guess we must have made some sort of ball park figure offer to his agent, and that's why he didn't come.
If we'd offered an improvement of his Spuds wage (which, at 29, is peak last bumper payday time) maybe we'd have got him in the building before that sniffling twerp would have upset him by changing the wages offer last minute?
