Following a record-breaking summer transfer window where Premier League spending surged to €4.1 billion, the owners are looking for extra financial power to stay compliant with cost control regulations while remaining competitive.
Reported by the Financial Times.
Rather than single-owner funding, Everton is moving toward a multi-investor consortium model. TFG has already integrated other minority shareholders into their holding vehicle, Roundhouse Capital, including billionaire Christopher Sarofim and former NBA coach Jason Kidd.
TFG is looking to maintain a majority share, but there is always a chance of full sale if an attractive offer is made and they will pass all the relevant checks.
To me it’s possibly not all bad news. A well-structured consortium can bring diverse skillsets and backing.
For example, one type of partner might be a local billionaire who understands the club's culture.
I feel we need this, maybe Andy Bell and George Downing to give that Everton supporter voice; I feel it’s apparent that this is lacking in the current structure.
Another type of investor could be an American sports executive skilled in global commercialisation. I feel we have improved in this area but still room to do more.
And a third type of investor would be a Middle Eastern sovereign wealth fund providing deep liquidity.
Another good investment would be those in Global Media & Live Entertainment. We need to tap into our stadium's potential revenue streams and an investor in that field could bring their investment and expertise. We’ve had the rugby, the Lionesses and the Euros in 2028, but we need to get more. Tapping into the NFL games would be a huge income boost as well.
So it’s not all doom and gloom if we get some good investors in.
But for me, the current executives in charge seem out of their depth.

Didn't think it was doom and gloom Southern Toffee, financially, I think that stain of a CEO is bent on messing our Club up big time though.
