Interesting comment on AS Roma regarding Freidkins' control
Investment Style
The owners focus on long-term growth instead of quick fixes.
They put large amounts of money into the squad and facilities.
They try to fix old financial damage and lower bad wage bills.
The group also expanded its sports portfolio by agreeing to buy Everton, but stated that AS Roma remains central to their football goals.
So we are not important, really.

Yeah, I put millions and millions of pounds into things that aren't really important as well. ?

Because Roma came first. But I am impressed by NickB57's ability or anyone to gain such knowledge as Gospel.

Negative Reg as usual.

Roma spent over 124 million euros in summer. We spent just over 90 million euros. Roma have a 25-man squad. We have 19. Roma have 25/27 players out on loan, more than we have in our squad. Does it seem to suggest anything? Freidkins now looking to take investment in Everton, or, as some have said, sell us.
Seems to me we would be better off without them. Where would any revenue go if they did take in investment? Makes me wonder if they were only ever after the new ground.

Separate clubs, with separate balance sheets, working under different financial restrictions (I assume the Italian financial rules differ to the Premier League rules anyway) .
One has been a regular in European competition and the other has been struggling against relegation.
The fact that both are owned by the same company/family is largely irrelevant.

If you take some of the anger and emotions away and look at it logically.
They took over Roma 6 years ago after they were struggling financially and were in a real mess.
They are now back as a force again and as you said have a good size squad, plenty more out on loan and a more sustainable operation with little debt.
Now look at us.
Not been our owners for 2 years yet, the debt now manageable, the wage bill reduced, with players like Dacoure who was on 110k a week, and a squad improving in quality, all be it still needing more players. We were selling our best player every window and not getting any real quality in, but now with players like KDH, Rohl, George, Jack, Hayden and others, we are light years away from the 3 years before they came.
We spent 117m last summer, we've spent money this summer, but our problem really came from not selling players for two years and therefore we were waiting for someone to go so we could go back in the market.
They make mistakes like all clubs. They corrected the Armstrong one. Hopefully next summer they correct the lack of some players on some positions.
After saving us from extinction, I'll give them a bit of slack for now.
{Ed025's Note - good post that John..

They did invest because of the new Ground that was the only attraction for anyone. Moshiri only received an initial £25 mill. Friedkins took on the debt. Couple of years, and the Stadium will start producing big sums.

I don't think TFG are awful; they just appointed Kinnear, which I feel is a mistake.

Great perspective, give BJU.

Look at your original post, Nick, and then look at my response and tell me who is being negative hahaha unbelievable.

As much as the end of this transfer window and the end of last season annoyed everyone. In the cold light of day we are miles away from where we were under the last 3 years of Moshiri's reign.
The stress levels of constantly worrying about point deductions, staying up, and even keeping the lights on have subsided for me.
Yes, it's Everton, and we all know we should have our own rollercoaster Alton Towers, but for at least a year now, I've been able to watch the game without that horrible knot in my stomach.
Things are looking up, but it's just slow progress. I do think we'll get there, you know!
Up The F****** Toffees!

If they have that many players out on loan, how come we didn't pick a couple of them up?
