We have been told on numerous occasions that the Friedkin's are ruthless businessmen.
If that is the case, then why is Kinnear and the morons he brought with him from Leeds still at the club? They all should've gone the morning after the transfer window debacle.
I feel that severance payments may be the reason.
Planning for the January window should've started by now and Kinnear and Co. shouldn't be anywhere near it.

I wondered why the Friedkins brought in Angus Kinnear. It was probably because he was in charge of the Arsenal move to their new stadium, and he did the same with the West Ham move to their new stadium.
So I presume that he was brought in to transition us from Goodison to Hill Dickinson and to maximize the revenue from the new stadium.
Consequently, I can't see him going anywhere.
The big question is, "Who is our head scout and who is in charge of the recruitment team?" Did Kinnear bring them from Leeds? They are the ones that need replacing.

I thought about this the other day and came to a complete opposite assumption. I think they paid for and got exactly what they want from having Kinear as the head of recruitment and his team. I think these are the days for unpopular decisions. The rivers of blood will be on his hands.
When things become a lot better and we can actually spend some money without having to sell our best players, he will be sacked and replaced with a team with a different set of skills. I think these Friedkins know exactly what they're doing. Mushrooms much?

I stated on here when he was appointed that the claim that we now had a world class CEO would come back to bite the owners.
When he left Leeds, the vast majority of their supporters were over the moon as they were fed up with all the b******t, repeated false promises and a failure to secure or compete for transfer targets.
Our latest transfer window ( the worst in living memory ) can politely be described as an abject failure as is Mr Kinnear.
The failures are all well documented and lie firmly at his door. He is totally out of his depth.
He arrogantly promised our first choice Right Back, has left us with the worst Left Back in the division and no specialist competition and left us with a totally inadequate Striker.
He asked to be judged at the end of the transfer window. Is there anyone who thinks that the fiasco on deadline day was a success? Didn't think so.
Moyes has my sympathy, he had a difficult enough job as it was and Kinnear has made it so much harder.
He should show some integrity and walk, but we all know that he won't.

Rohl, George, Hayden, Niles, Grealish, Johnson and Noorgard are some of the best players we've signed in one window for a long time. Youth, experience, knowledgeable, part of champions league clubs, one rated the best player in their league, one from the league champions and more importantly quality players.
7 players brought in. The one that got away was the striker that due to him missing an earlier flight to arrive late for his medical (he should have been there at 830am and turned up in the afternoon) which showed he still had a knee injury and his club didn't send over his medical documents, we chose to question and alter the deal. This wasn't a cheap purchase, it would have been one of our biggest ever.
Was it perfect? No. Should we have done better in getting players in earlier? maybe. But it was clear we couldn't buy anyone else due to SCR (which doesn't mean we're skint but we have to live within our means) until we sold a player.
They made a mistake with Armstrong, then corrected it. They were right to sacrifice Ndiaye because he wasn't going to sign another contract and wanted out. Could it have been done earlier? No because City and Spurs were buying other players for huge sums and also waiting to sell players of their own.
As for Kinnear, he is to blame for parts of it, so too is the recruitment team and some of the blame is just circumstance. However, I can't blame him for the way the club is run. The stadium continues to create money, he is also improving it what it offers outside of football including the Rugby events, and other events, plus costs are under control, the wage bill reduced with players coming in on more affordable contracts and other expensive ones gone.
Worst window in living memory is an insane comment after what we've been going through year after year of poor quality and over priced players. If you're all blaming him based on a transfer window or more like the last day of it then I'd put that under the insane label as well.
He and the rest of the club need and must do better. They need to learn from past mistakes. However, we're not fighting relegation and I doubt with the quality we have will be anywhere near it. This squad all be it small, is more than good enough to compete at the right end of the table. 2 years ago today I'd have bitten your hand off to think like that. We are light years away from that era.
So stay calm, support the players on match day and if you're still not sure take a look back a couple of years and see whether he has improved the club since being here? Or where you happy with Dyche, Moshiri and the team we had? Didn't think so.
I'm angry and will be until we sort the final bits out but I'm also very conscious of how this club had been run before Kinnear and TFG.

No offense meant, SB, and I'll concede about my lack of class.
However, for some reason, these days it's either hero or villain. Sometimes they can be neither, and in this case, people are focusing on one aspect of what the owners and CEO are doing. The bigger picture is much clearer for once, even if there's still some rain clouds about.

While agreeing with some of your sentiments, BlueJohn, I can't agree with some of the data. We already had Grealish, Rohl and George last season, so yes, good that we made them permanent, but it took little effort from a scouting viewpoint. We recruited Johnson, Hackney, Norgaard and Maitland-Niles, and one of them is injured. Hackney is a great signing, the others we will see.
We let seven leave from last year, Patterson, Aznou, Beto, Iroegbunam, Ndiaye, McNeil and Gueye.
We failed to get in a striker or back-up for both right-back and left-back positions, needs that we have had since I was a lot younger.
So, not the worse in living memory, but in my very humble opinion not a great one either.
As I suggested above, Kinnear was recruited because of the new stadium and as far as we can see is doing a good job of making it a money maker. As CEO, though, he has to get his scouting and recruitment team to do better.

I'd say with Rohl, George and Jack, they were recruited and scouted by the same people who brought them permanently this summer. For Tim and Gana, we brought Hackney and Norgard. McNeil, we got Johnson, and for Patterson we got Niles.
Aznou is right to go on loan, and due to more strength in midfield, Garner can be sacrificed to cover any potential injury to Myko, and the same for Rohl as RB. Aznou forced Moyes' hand for the loan as well.
I feel Dibbling will now be given more game time to cover Ndiaye.
However, I accept we need better cover for the RB and LB, and they failed in covering Beto leaving. Our hand was forced a little due to the Italian league closing earlier than ours, and losing the 18m on the table for him is difficult, especially as it allows us to go into the market in a stronger financial position.
As I said, I'm angry as well, but maybe my view is different to some because I accept the difficult circumstances we were under. Doesn't mean I'm right though, and I'm not, usually, according to the missus.

It's not about being right or wrong, we all have opinions and they may differ, but one thing that we have in common is our love for Everton. I went to my first game age six, eighty years ago and the passion has not diminished with age.

I'm 48 and had a lot of great memories initially - for us still to be looking back to 30+ years ago is terrible - however, do point out without introduction of the Premier League I'm sure cups and leagues would have been shared out more - I don't realistically see anyone other than Arsenal, City, Chelsea, Liverpool winning league in next 20 years - it's a scandal, to be honest, and so boring.

Yes some fantastic teams and players Ed025. Remember being at a game as kids with an attendance of about 78, 000 at Goodison with my mate Neville Smith who went on to co-write and act in the "Golden Vision". Great days and memories.
