Chelsea were only fined with no points deduction based on the new owners being open and admitting the problems made by the previous owners.
On that basis if the Arabs sell City to new owners (maybe a new Arab consortium) who then admit all of the points made against the old owners will that give the League a way to replicate the Chelsea deal?

The issue with this scenario Mike is that Chelsea should never have been let off.
We can talk about city and what might happen but Chelsea should have been dealt with properly.
As a result, I still think that City will be treated leniently. Only thing going against them is the press have got on board for this one. They won't get off as easy but I doubt it will be Scot-free.

Yes I agree BR but they were let off. So as I say if City end up by being owned by someone else could the same scenario apply.
I know this is just speculation but Ed001 is it legally possible for the Premier League to order the City owners to sell the club.
If they did that they could argue that they have punished the owners and then treat the club like they treated Chelsea?

I don't think so Mike on the basis that Chelsea weren't dealt with before the new owners took charge.
Also TFG weren't responsible for the Burnley situation but have to pay the full penalty so there's that to consider too.

Sorry if I over simplify this but I’m very confused with City’s treatment.
City broke rules. Hid the facts. Owners denied it all. Found guilty. Punishment to be decided.
Chelsea broke rules. Hid the facts. New owners self report. Found guilty. Pitiful fine.
How did Chelsea get off so lightly when Forest, Leicester and ourselves all complied with investigations? Points deductions for one breach each but Chelsea had 74 and got nowhere near as much.
The excuse of ‘self reporting’ should mean nothing as they would have been found out eventually and they are as bad as City by hiding it.
If City are dealt with properly, is there any chance of reopening Chelsea’s case?
