Just catching up on a lot of the chat. i'm in a dull place at the minute. Have been put at risk of redundancy and my life feels like its turned upside down. Makes me realise what's important in life. Football is a way out and we've been doing alright. Hoping it continues.

Take it easy mate, life does throw the odd curve ball, but your in safe hands here. as for Everton it's like being strapped to a roller coaster sometimes but hay that's why we're Evertonians.

Hang in there BlueDev. I've been there mate and it's hard to believe at the minute but things can and do get better. Try and stay positive and good luck mate.

Same as what Reg said above Dev, it feels like its never going to end, but things quickly change for the better.

Keep your chin up mate.

Been there in that same dull place, Dev, and right now you must feel totally despondent, mate.
Keep that chin up because these things will always have a turnaround of some sort; that's a promise.

Keep safe Dev - Supportin EFC is probably not in any self help book ?? - see we are for sale (again)

More important things than football though pal - keep your head up - don't suppose you can play left back can you?

Ride the wave, mate, you will get through this. Life is full of challenges for us to navigate and, once it's over, you will be stronger for the experience. Keep your chin up, pal.

Wow what a great bunch you are. Thanks lads.

I've been through redundancy myself, and you do come out the other side. It's horrible when you're in it and if it does happen to you, one thing that helped me massively was getting clued up on what I was actually entitled to. It takes a bit of the fear away when you know where you stand.

There's loads of support out there on benefits, grants, even help with things like clothing costs and I used it all when was out of work. If you go on the gov site and search "online checker for benefits after being made redundant", it brings up everything.

If you've got creditors you may stress about, speak to them early. They can freeze interest and give you breathing space. But honestly, they're not the priority, your main bills come first.

I know it's a football forum and we all argue about daft stuff, but real life things like this don't come with instructions. No one teaches you how to deal with this stuff so if this helps mate, it's worth saying.

Good luck with the job situation Blue dev. I was lucky had several jobs then with the same company for 30 years. However my Dad was made redundant twice and it was no fun for the whole family.

It was what drove me to go to Salford Tech. and get a degree in Chemistry. I was determined to have a qualification to fall back on if I ended up in the same situation.
