Got this from a reliable source who works in the club.
Hackney: his preference is to move to us and the club are discussing personal terms with him at the moment. This is not believed to be an issue. The fee is believed to be in/around 15m. It is expected that he will be brought in to compete for a midfield role but not as an immediate starter. As well as him, the club also hope to sign a defensive midfielder (No6) , but no names mentioned as yet.
Ndiaye: there is no fallout with Ndiaye and he has not asked for a move. The club have offered him a new five-year deal which would make him one of the highest paid players at the club. The issue is that his agency want a release clause (around 40m) . Everton have said no to this.

This doesn’t mean that they won’t agree to a clause, but not at the fee his agency want.
Currently the club have received no offers for the player. The club are relaxed about the situation given the player still has three years left on his current contract. Talks will continue after the player returns from the World Cup and the club are confident of a positive outcome.
Wan Bissacka has been offered to the club; no decision has been made yet. Asking price is around 15m. He is currently two years into a bumper seven-year deal at West Ham on 90k a week.
We have scouted Gu’ela Dou’e from Strasbourg extensively over the last twelve months as another right back option. We like him, but no offer has been made as yet.

Great info Bmd.

Getting the two of them in would be smart business. Not only does it give us some depth to a position where we didn't even have a credible starter, but it gives us two completely different profiles. Doue can also play further forward and on the opposite flank - very talented player, much like his brother.

{Ed025's Note - if we could get his brother BN...then we would be talking mate.. :)

For what it's worth, my brother (who is a West Brom supporter) watches a lot of Championship football and tells me that he considers Hackney to be the best player he has seen in the Championship this season.

Thanks for that Bmd, good news mate, not all doom and gloom as some seem to like.

{Ed025's Note - i dont think the guys like to moan GB but after the really crappy end to the season has left most of us feeling a bit flat mate..

03 Jun 2026 16:14:47
Agree Ed mate but after all the negativity it's good to read some good news

{Ed025's Note - if its not just pie in the sky GB i will get my mojo back mate.. :)

Just hope we will get a decent window, mate, and get them in early for a change.

{Ed025's Note - that would be great GB...if it happens mate..

Have not seen a lot of Dibling, but then he's not played much, to be honest. Have not been impressed.
But before we cut him loose (which would not get back too much of the ridiculous fee) , think we should put him out on loan, if he comes good, we can bring him back into the squad, or sell and get more of our money back.

Hopefully, Dibling gets some confidence back and has a great pre season with a decent RB backing him up, and makes it impossible not to start him. Fingers crossed.

If your reliable source is Moyes BMD, tell him to stop messing about and play players in their best position and sort out his substitute phobia!

All in all, that post is the best I've read in ages. If we announce Hackney first day of the window and a few others soon after, I'd be feeling pretty positive for the first time since we beat Chelsea.

Just hope that Moyes plays the players he gets that are in form in their positions and not be so bloody stubborn.

DM stated in last few pressers Dibling was getting into the workload and showing a lot of progress. He also stated the kid will benefit from a pre season and had no plans to loan him out. It's only his fee that's making for all the impatience. He has plenty of time. I don't expect to see him flourish for another season yet. But do expect him to make a lot more appearances, especially in the 2nd half of coming season.

As for quick business? Well sure, these Championship players should be OK but a WC year always hinders the speed clubs make signings. Usually a log jam and then a crazy last 2 weeks.
I expect us to still have plenty to do once the season kicks off. I expect a lot of moaning.

Thank you, BMD, great info there too, fingers crossed your source is bang on the money mate.
