So Leeds have now launched legal action against Leicester, claiming Leicester's PSR breach cost them automatic promotion in 23/24. And honestly, this is exactly what happens when the Premier League let's clubs start suing each other over hypothetical league positions.
Once Burnley sued us and actually got somewhere with it, the whole thing opened a massive can of worms. Every club now will now think they've got a case for "financial damages" whenever someone else breaks rules. It's turning football into a courtroom sport.
That case opened the door, and now every club who feels hard done by is going to try their luck.

Leeds' argument is basically that Leicester broke PSR, Leicester should've had a points deduction during the season, Leeds would've finished top two, therefore Leeds lost out on Premier League money, therefore Leicester owe them millions.

And you know what whether you agree with Leeds or not, this is the monster the Premier League created. Burnley set the precedent. Now everyone's going to pile in.

We're going to end up with clubs suing each other every season.
Relegation? Sue someone.
Missed promotion? Sue someone.
Didn't get Europe? Sue someone.
Lost a game to a team who later got a deduction? Sue someone.

It's ridiculous. Football's supposed to be decided on the pitch, not in a courtroom with accountants and lawyers arguing over who lost out on what hypothetical revenue.

The whole PSR system is a mess, and instead of fixing it, they created a world where clubs are basically encouraged to take each other to court. Leeds and Leicester is just the next domino and It won't be the last.

And as an Evertonian, watching this unfold after everything we've been dragged through it's hard not to feel like the Premier League has completely lost control of its own rules.

{Ed025's Note - the game is finished mate..

Hi, new here - first comment. Been looking here for rumours for a while.

Surely clubs should be suing the football league now instead of individual clubs?

It's the EPL/EFL's fault for it getting this far and not being dealt with properly in the first place? Especially in the case of Leicester.

We're different as no intent of advantage and we were dealt with (points deduction) , but where the league has allowed it to go this far, it should be them at fault?

I'm pretty sure that one of the conditions of being a member of the PL is that you can't appeal or sue the PL, or something along those lines.

That's s**** isn't it... "can't touch us but can sue other members" lol.
