Tarkowski the new captain so he's not getting dropped.

Good choice, I reckon.

Club captain yes, team captain No. He has been making far too many mistakes, been caught ball watching, and errors have led to too many chances for opposition. It's time for him to step aside, he should not be in the starting 11.
Only my opinion, obviously, but the stats back that up. Out of all the PL center backs he made the most errors leading to a chance (7) , which is double most center backs! Ok, those errors didn't always lead to a goal, which was only 1, but he simply got lucky and was mostly bailed out by other players.
That luck will not last.
Whether he scored a wonder equaliser against the red s**** or not, it's time for him to step aside, along with Keane.

You could say that about most of the team; they have all made howlers at one time or another last season. Only my opinion, but I think he will make a good captain.

There was very little alternative in my books. Seems to have been given it as default from team captain last season. Wouldn't be my choice but there's little else to choose from.

Fair point, but with the exception of Pickford, center backs, they are obviously the last line of defence. If they make a cock up, then it's disaster; anywhere else we still have recovery options. Therefore, we can't have continuous errors from a CB, it's a recipe for disaster, a CB needs to be more consistent. The stats speak for themselves.
Like I say, he makes a good 'club' captain in the same way Seamus did, but on the pitch it has to be O'Brien, Branthwaite (injuries permitting!) or (if it ever happens) someone like Ben White. So the captaincy on the pitch goes to someone else.
I'm sorry to say, because I like the guy, but Tarky is on his way out.

I myself would have given it to Branthwaite, great defender, commands his line, young enough to take us places. Just my opinion, of course.

KDH for me.

He may not have been here long, but Norgaard is a natural leader on the pitch and would make a great captain.

Not sure what difference it makes. He calls the toss, passes over the club flag and accepts the trophies if we ever win one. If it's leading or helping the young players with advice, he could do that without being Captain. The most important decision Moyes has to do is play the best and inform two center-backs we have, regardless of who is Captain.

More often than not, Mike, the captain, is always in the starting 11.
