Well it looks like Moyes for the time being. I for one am just glad Dyche has gone. He did his job but he was never here to take the club forward. I hope there's a plan and a reason why we need Moyes as an interim and time will tell. For now I feel relief that we won't watch Dyche ball anymore. If it is Moyes then so be it. The football will instantly improve and that's all I could possibly wish for right now. The thought of watching another game of football under Dyche absolutely killed my passion for the game. So I will get behind Moyes and hopefully he gives Goodison the send off we deserve. COYB.

Absolutely Pauly.

I think it would be fitting for him to send us out of Goodison given the length of time he was at us in the modern era.

Carsley as his no2 would fill me with a lot more confidence.

2.) 09 Jan 2025 19:01:54
Why that idiot Moyes, hate the man, how many times has he been sacked since he dropped us.

3.) 09 Jan 2025 19:18:08
Dropped us? Had the chance to manage one of the biggest and most successful clubs in the world.

4.) 09 Jan 2025 22:50:27
And blew it!

5.) 10 Jan 2025 10:21:44
As have many highly rated managers - Van Gaal, Mourinho and ETH to mention a few.

09 Jan 2025 09:43:25
Thomas Frank now being mentioned. I got a feeling about this rumour.

Pauly2

1.) 09 Jan 2025 09:59:41
Just can't see it mate.

Why leave a club where you are probably in no danger of being relegated. You have everything setup in terms of support networks to allow you to succeed in your job. To swap it for a club well in a relegation battle, that has been a circus for the past decade.

Not to mention that the compensation fee would be costly to get him out of there.

Would be a great appointment mind.

2.) 09 Jan 2025 10:19:20
He has ambition, he admires us as a club and he believes in himself. Perfect challenge for him. I think this has got legs. I hope so anyway.

3.) 09 Jan 2025 10:30:40
Been my number one choice from the get go. Incredible what him and his team have done with a group of League 1/ Championship players. Brings youngsters through, plays great football. Speaks and engages with the fans well. This would be such a great appointment. I can see why people would think this is unlikely, but I just have a feeling that he would welcome an opportunity to take us back to the top. Maybe a summer appointment though, Brentford are having a great season and he may wish to see it out.

4.) 09 Jan 2025 10:37:24
Thomas Frank certainly gets my backing and approval if we are actually interested or looking get a manager in who isn't out of work. ?

Just don't see him wanting to go through. be a great appointment if managed to get him.

5.) 09 Jan 2025 10:40:55
Even if those 3 things are true mate, which imo, they probably are, why would it not make more sense for him to just wait until summer to make the move.

He might very well want the job but just makes no sense to jump ship half way through the season, especially given the high risk involved.

6.) 09 Jan 2025 11:40:04
Maybe some substance to it, would see him seeing out the season and the Friedkins gambling on Dyche for the remainder of season, bumpy ride ahead!
Then Frank taking over next season has contract until summer 2027
A big ask though.

7.) 09 Jan 2025 11:41:13
Just been told Dyche on way to finch farm to be sacked, Fonseca lined up.

8.) 09 Jan 2025 12:22:44
Agree mocker gets my full backing go all put get Thomas frank or try iraola from Bournemouth done wonders be happy with either right now.

9.) 09 Jan 2025 16:10:18
I like him but can't for the life of me figure out what he "admires as a club" is he harking back 40 years? Or just being Nordic polite?

{Ed025's Note - off topic....just been on sky about the number of goals at home this season
Leading Scorers 24/25 season
McNeil......3
Craig Dawson ...2 (own goals against Wolves)
Beto....2
and we have still not sacked this idiot of a manager...unbelievable Jeff..

05 Jan 2025 10:52:09
Don't shoot the messenger but here's what I have heard from someone connected to the club.
Moyes was at the titanic over new years (eve or day I'm not sure) to discuss taking over till the end of the season. He will then take a seat on the advisory board and the job will be taken by Potter in the summer. Again this is just what I have heard and this is a rumour site so what do we think of this if true?

Pauly2

1.) 05 Jan 2025 12:11:09
Moyes and Titanic. Say no more ?.

2.) 05 Jan 2025 13:14:10
Don't be upsetting Nick with this moyes talk mate ?
If it means getting rid of sd right now then I would bite your hand off at this rumour. I'd only take dm back for the rest of the season and look to bring someone in more permanent in the summer.

3.) 05 Jan 2025 13:29:12
If Moyes was at the Titanic on New Years eve/ day it would be all over the press and internet.

4.) 05 Jan 2025 14:21:40
The lad in question works at finch farm. Like I say I'm just repeating what has been said.

5.) 05 Jan 2025 14:42:11
Anything to get dyche out. I genuinely can't believe he is still here. Ipswich currently winning, dyche will take us down.

{Ed025's Note - he certainly will Chris...has he gone yet?..

6.) 05 Jan 2025 15:46:27
Cheers BP. Nice to know someone is caring for my health lol.

7.) 05 Jan 2025 16:21:59
Lucky with that result. Has he gone yet?

8.) 05 Jan 2025 18:01:23
If he can keep us up and someone take over in Summer, I’d take Moyes. However, he said he didn’t want another relegation battle a week or so ago. He is not going to do a U-Turn on that. We lose to Villa and Spurs at home and he has to go. It’s just going to take too long for another manager to come in, buy in players they want and get the team playing and winning with a third of the season left.

Who will be our saviour? I don’t know. Don’t think it will be Moyes, Mourinho or Potter.

9.) 05 Jan 2025 22:14:04
Why wait until spurs and villa beat us? Just sack him now.

{Ed025's Note - amen to that Chris..

10.) 06 Jan 2025 08:49:02
Trying to help keep your blood pressure under control Nick ?.

What a difference it makes playing to a players strengths. Beto is a "ball in front of him" striker. He will get goals if we play to his strengths. You only have to look at forest and Chris Woods (amongst others) . A good manager will utilise every players strengths to build a team. It's simple stuff really.

Pauly2

1.) 01 Feb 2025 19:05:29
Great post Pauly. I have been saying this for months and have been pelted.

The difference between Moyes and Dyche is that he knows how to utilise his players and get them playing to their strengths. He simplifies things where as Dyche tries to the round pegs in square holes approach. Moyes will have had us drilling those passes in behind all week in training because he knows that is how Beto plays. Dyche on the other hand expects Beto to try and replicate DCL.

Some people say that Beto isn't a good footballer and cannot hold the ball up. Whilst they may be right, the lad can score goals and make a difference, he also grafts and puts defenders under pressure. You could even give him half an assists for the opener.

I know I would much rather have somebody who can put the ball in the net in 1v1 situations, than a lad who wins flick ons and can chest a ball really well.

2.) 01 Feb 2025 19:09:02
Just goes to show what a defensive manager Dyche was cracking win today.

01 Dec 2024 17:02:43
Has anyone got the bollocks to sack this man and save the club?

Pauly2

1.) 01 Dec 2024 17:37:22
Unfortunately nothing will happen until the takeover is completed.

2.) 01 Dec 2024 17:51:09
I would if I could.

01 Dec 2024 13:21:11
Well, I'm hoping we pur a display on today, but I'm not holding my breath. We are due a 5 niller against these in their own backyard. I hope we pull a brighton away performance out the hat today but all I sense is a gloomy, tough to watch, car crash of a performance and on the wrong end of 3-0 win.

Pauly2

1.) 01 Dec 2024 14:34:05
And there we go. Usual performance at OT. Jammy goal followed by the usual mistake and game over.

Very sad news indeed. I've seen mention of a charity for donations as a sort of tribute to Ed002 but I can't find it or the statement about Ed002s passing - anyone able to steer please?

{Ed033's Note - Ed002 tribute page

2.) 21 Nov 2024 14:28:52
Many thanks Ed033.

The above msgs just tell the story of how a club shouldn't be run. We should buy players that fit into the ideas of a manager and his style of play. For too long now, it's as though different people just sign players that are available rather than suited. Hopefully, the club as a whole can turn a corner and finally get the recruitment right again. I don't care who the manager is. He just needs everyone pulling in the same direction, and we will see a difference.

How about the NSNO stadium. Then they have no choice but to live up to the motto.

I'd like to see G Potter given a chance. Southgate is a no no. At least Potter, with backing, could bring a new philosophy to the club. Southgate is just a puppet and he's been out of club football for years. He doesn't take risks and I think we've all had enough of that type of football. Give Potter time and resources and I believe he could be the man to take us up a level.
