Regardless of change of ownership. would it be a bigger risk to keep or to sack Sean Dyche?
08 Oct 2024 06:19:46
I would keep for this season but I think I might be in the minority. Agree guaranteed uninspiring football but virtually guaranteed to finish 11-16th with him.
{Ed025's Note - i dont know about that Cookie, a couple of losses and we are right back in the mire mate and once down there it is difficult to get back out, its all about opinions of course but i would get rid asap..

Get rid - it’s awful football - hopefully we can buy better players and Dyche proves he’s not capable of playing any other style than hoofing it.
New owner. New style of play. New manager. New stadium.
Dyche should be banned from the entertainment industry.
{Ed025's Note - im with you Sobs..

for me i'd rather just go through it this season and then shake hands at the end of it, unless they're absolutely convinced the right man is available and ready to come in now
the next managerial appointment is hugely important, don't see the point of paying Dyche his massive payout and then appointing someone that maybe isn't the one we want out of a matter of convenience.
it might be tighter than it should be, but i doubt EFC are in any serious trouble this season.
{Ed025's Note - from what i have seen WB we will be trouble for the forseeable future mate, you never know but with injuries and suspensions it could get even worse (if thats possible) and surely none of us want to watch this type of football every week, it will mean paying off this dinosaur of course but he has less than a year on his contract which in relative terms is about a quarter of what we are paying for Beto, they say the definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results and im sure the players cant be enjoying this type of play, say no to hoofball and give us our club back i say..

I would also keep SD until the current season ends I don't think we will be relegated with him in charge and with so much uncertainty I think he would be safer bet short term than risk a new management team at this time.
08 Oct 2024 09:33:58
For what it's worth I wouldn't be against keeping Dyche until the end of the season, am confident we won't go down this season or be in the fight near the season end. Yes the football is dire no arguing on that but no guarantees that whoever comes in can hit the ground running and we run risk of being more dragged in if he doesn't, if the right candidate is out there fair enough but unlikely see any charge before Christmas and the January window will be interesting if Dyche is still here in terms of calibre and type of player we get in. Do agree Dyche needs to go but for me safest option to keep till his contract is up.

I don't want SD to be given any more time than is necessary, however pragmatic as this sounds it's because I am not sure that any more turmoil in the clubs' infrastructure at this 'time' will be helping matters or be a damaging hindrance?
That said, I am no longer a believer in Sean in any way.
08 Oct 2024 10:30:42
Got to go. Do you really want this man involved in any January transfers? 42m spent on O’Brian and Beto alone, and yes we know Beto is crap but have no idea about O’Brian. And at a time when we are struggling for full backs. Seems whoever Thelwell brings in Dyche isn’t interested in playing them.
Get rid of both and start afresh with new owners.
To those who say keep him to end of season to make us safe. We are only two losses from being back in the relegation battle, and the football we are playing doesn’t convince me we are going to be safe.

Tricky one. I want him to go, but I don’t think we go down with him at the helm. Do I want our last home games at Goodison to be negative and disappointing, no. My vote is to let him go on Jan 1st if we’re looking safe. Let Coleman and Baines manage the last few home games and get the crowd going. Get a new coach in for preseason.

Has to go sure Freidkin will give him his marching orders when he takes over.
08 Oct 2024 12:47:09
Get rid asap. Today would be a day too late. Tomorrow would be long overdue.
08 Oct 2024 14:08:22
I would have done it before the first international break, the results, capitulations, tactics, use of subs, team selections etc. He hasn't inspired any sort of confidence that he is the right man for our club. How much would it cost to get rid now with less than a year left on his and his staff's contracts? Surely it's not a huge bill?
{Ed025's Note - im with you BP..
08 Oct 2024 20:12:54
It's OK saying keep til end of season as he will keep us up, but there's no guarantees he will or Burnley wouldn't of gone down. Fans are fed up with the tripe being served up. Players look fed up having to play hoofball too.
{Ed025's Note - i think the players are enjoying it as much as the supporters Dentie, which is not at all mate..
