Good to hear fans coming together on here with almost all realising that Moyes is now our best bet to get us up the table and away from the bottom three, it seems Freidkin has gone for Moyes as a safe pair of hands to do this, they must have a long term strategy in place, we now have a new owner, manager and very soon a new stadium, plenty to be excited about, and I sure am.
{Ed025's Note - just a new DOF now GB..

I read David Weir was in line to replace him Ed mate.
{Ed025's Note - we will have to see on that one mate..

Not sure why we need a DOF Ed025. Let Moyes say who he wants and let the scouts (we do have some? ) find what he wants. What we need is a business/ accountant person to deal with wages, contracts etc. and keep us from overspending again. Let the Manager manage, you don't need two doing the same thing.
{Ed025's Note - thats what a DOF does Mike, Thelwell has been a bit underwhelming i would say mate so an upgrade would make sense..

So I am confused then Ed025. I thought that a DOF had more input into who we recruited and the manager was more of a coach. What I am suggesting is that the Manager should have full responsibility for recruiting playing staff, he decides who he wants and the only reason he can't have that player is if they can't come to an agreement on contracts etc. In other words go back to the days before someone came up with this DOF job malarky.
{Ed025's Note - as far as i know it doesn,t work that way these days Mike, the manager will identify positions that need enhancing, the DOF will identify (through the scouting system) the players who fit the brief and a list is made in order of preference, it is then up to the DOF to contact their representatives, player and parent club to negotiate a deal..

OK thanks Ed025. I am just a stupid old Scouse bugger who doesn't understand anything, at least that's what my wife of 60 years from Prescot tells me on a daily basis.
{Ed025's Note - thats just how it was explained to me Mike, we are all old sods mate and to be married for 60 years is amazing mate you should both be very proud my friend...kudos..

I know a couple didn’t want Moyes but I feel now he’s our manager I feel like a massive weight has been lifted off Everton in the form of Dyche getting binned, and now think we can move forward together.

I know the feeling Mike??.

Thanks Ed025. When we first got married we lived in a little house in Rainford Junction. We had a row about me spending too much time in the pub and she said she was leaving and going back to her Mother's. She walked to the bus stop and after about an hour she was back, evidently she just missed the last bus. I've blamed the bloody bus driver ever since.
{Ed025's Note - love it Mike, great story..

The DOF is also responsible for the development of the younger players, and bringing young players in. It's a big role within the club, hence the importance of getting the right man in.

GB you seem to be trying to hide the fact that you were one of the many that didn't want Moyes and were vociferous about it
Let's see how long you actually "support" him.
