Shout out to Gingerdan. You have long supported Beto when many of us, myself included didn't rate him.
Well yesterday was the first time I got to see him in the flesh so to speak, and I made a point of watching his movement off the ball. This is something you don't see on tv.
Have to say I was impressed, the lad makes intelligent runs, but our midfielders are not good enough to supply him. He never stopped grafting all game, and was very unlucky with his two goals.
I am now of the opinion that with better coaching and a season in the Premiership under his belt he could well be a very useful player for us.
Just need a midfielder who can see that pass and not continuously go sideways and back.
Fair play to you Dan.
PS, I was ok till that violinist came on and that got me. Grown man crying oh dear.

I love the guys eagerness, work rate and humility. If he stayed on side a bit more we would be talking more about his goal too.

I read that he had 2 goals disallowed but when I watched MOTD there was no highlights or mention of it which I thought was strange.

I am with you Ace.

Don’t mind a player playing on the edge. Perhaps if we had players who could deliver an early ball then the lad wouldn’t get caught offside so much.
I am going by what I saw yesterday, and with good coaching this guy will improve.
{Ed025's Note - im yet to be convinced BMD, a good CF should always know where he is whether the ball comes in early or late, the odd time you can forgive but when its happening on a regular basis the questions have to be asked mate..

Not his biggest fan, just in case any of you haven't noticed ?, but that eas one of his better performances yesterday. He stayed on his feet more, linked up play quite well and played a few good balls. Performances wise yesterday, i couldn't really fault the lad. On a personal level, he proper screwed me over for a couple of hundred quid. If he'd had watched the line and those goals weren't chalked off, my 4 nil and Ndiaye to score anytime would have come in. ?.

Need a centre mid who can bring the ball forward and pick a pass and unfortunately we don't have one. With one of those Beto would be 12-18 goals a season.
{Ed025's Note - i dont think even if we had Wirtz, Rice and Yamal he would score that many Smit...just my opinion of course mate..

Commentators said how everyone time beto gets the ball his 1st thought is to turn defenders and run goalwards. how many times did we see ball up to striker and he plays it back to midfield or even centre backs. Ndiaye is the same, get the ball and attack. I think with better players around him, beto could be a valuable squad player.

I didn’t rate him until I seen him live myself albeit against Doncaster and Tranmere, not the highest measuring stick I know but he ran both defences raggged and at the end of the Tranmere game he ended up coming deep grabbing the ball and basicrunnng through the defence twice by himself and scoring the equaliser and the winner, he’s a top player just looks unorthodox because he’s gangly.

My feeling on Beto is that he hasn't played a lot of games in his entire career. He scores goals but take Saturday as an example his footballing brain is extremely immature. He could clearly see he was offside for both of his gaols yet stayed in the offside position.
I would still keep him over Dom as back up to a new upgraded striker. Chermitti needs a season out on load but he has potential to be a top striker.

Personally thought beto was excellent on Sunday. I am a fan as I love his passion and work rate. Plus his return in goals isn't half bad given the time he's had on the pitch. Not saying he's definitely the answer but there is no way I would be selling him anytime soon. Typical everton recent history is persevere with the likes of Holgate but then we have been far too quick to write players off without giving them a fair crack at the whip.
