Well yes, if you want to be all mathematically accurate and everything, but is his stock still that high? Mathematically speaking, he's a gazillion miles better than what we have, but why would we pay that much as a loan fee, unless we were confident enough in the rest of the squad to be targeting a trophy or Europe. I'm not convinced we're quite ready for that this coming season, much as I'd love it to be the case.

LLN then that is what is wrong with football and fans. We may have a chance to potentially sign a cracking player yet you'd think of the negative first? Obvs he'd had bad touches and games. But, more likely have a positive impact.

Even if he’s a 50 million pound player now, 12 million for a player for a season that we know improves us, sells shirts, and increases our exposure worldwide would be sensible business. Get him in.

I think it says a lot about our fans a group that we could look upon signing Jack Grealish as a negative. If we can afford him, great, get him in. Yes, we need more than one player, but we’ve shed loads in wages and he could be part of a step in the right direction. Or we just get Harrison back and moan about him for a season instead.

Grealish would improve us immensely. He may only be a sticking plaster but if he can get us top 8 this season, it makes us far more attractive to better players.
We aren't going to go back to FM days of throwing money around. We now want stability and to grow the club with the right players. Posters ask why we don't sign this player or that player and lay blame at the club for it. Maybe the player doesn't see us as a viable option yet.
Small steps and a solid foundation over the next few windows. We will get the players we need but maybe not the players we want us to sign.

We've been buying young players who will get better and have a resale value. We must continue in this vein.
Getting greilish will help in the short term but his club needs to think the longer strategy.
I know we're all worried about not getting players in and the season is getting closer but we have to make the most of this window and if it means we wait till the death then so be it.
Us spending 100-150m this window on good young players, could start to see us with a huge profit on them while getting further up the league. Then we are able to invest higher up the table and making it easier in the future to bring in better players.
We have to be patient. The long term thinking makes us stronger, the short term and panic buying only shows we've learned nothing.

Wish supporters would stop talking about profits on young players. We are no longer a selling club, and should be looking to bring young players in to develop a squad. Not make a few quid by selling them to one of the Sky six.

Brass you're totally wrong. ALL clubs are selling clubs, whether they are at the top or the bottom.
Liverpool are spending £300m+, Chelsea £50bagillion, City the same. We can't compete with that, even with a new stadium. But they also sell young players they've brought in for profits and it's one of the main ways they can beat PSR, in fact it's really the only way to beat it.
Thinking this way IS the bigger picture and will help the club be more competitive in the future and stop summers like this were we lose 10 players because they are too old with no resale value.

Brassington, sorry bud but until we start regularly challenging for trophies and titles we will like most clubs, be a selling club.
