What's the point of international friendlies when the season has already started just pointless but that aside just wondering what peoples foughts are an any of the eds can get involved on what will happen first would we see the 39th game abroad or maybe celtic an rangers join the prem which ed 002 always said would never happen miss his opinions on here could we see the super league breakaway happen or perhaps maybe FFP getting scrapped to give the likes of villa an Newcastle an others the opportunity to try compete against the big 6 us including anyways happy Friday UTFT.
{Ed001's Note - I expect a 39th game to eventually arrive now that UEFA and FIFA have given permission. It will be abroad, it will go to the countries that pay the most, maybe even spread around the globe with one game here and another there.}

Thank you Ed 001 for you're feedback as always so say if it was abroad would each club have there own match in different places that has a number of fans who follow that club like say for instance man united playing in Japan or China or will all the clubs just play in one country and also would it be classed as a 3 pointer aswell I would hate to be 17th and we needed a win just to survive in the prem but we can't attend it at our home grounds if it's abroad ??.
{Ed001's Note - originally the plan was to hold them all in one country each year, so there would be one batch of 10 games in say the USA after the rest of the season finished. But then someone realised they could get more exposure by splitting the games between different countries. The idea was to have it as an extra league match with Premier League points available as normal, but it was just on a neutral venue.}

Ed, I may be being simple here (likely) but how do you get fairness in terms of fixtures, if the 39th game is going to count towards PL pt?
Would it mean that a club for example could end up playing a City, Liverpool or Arsenal etc 3 times?
{Ed001's Note - yes, that is exactly what it would mean, which has been the main roadblock put in place to stop it happening. Otherwise, I think all the smaller clubs would have voted for it in order to get the extra cash. But realising it would mean they end up relegated because of it has put them off.
It was in order to prepare people for this 39th game that Premier League clubs started playing those preseason tournaments against other Prem clubs around the world. They are a precursor to it happening.}

Great insight ed 001 just hope we are not 17th and could potentially get relegated on the 39th match ??.

What about season ticket holders?
They’ve paid to watch all home games if one game is then taken to a neutral venue in a foreign country they’ll miss out - surely the would then be a breach of contract between club and season ticket holders?
{Ed001's Note - no, because they are paying for a set number of games - 38. The one abroad would be an extra.}

That’s only if the premier league went with the 39th game option.
The issue is the 2 games (la liga and serie A) that are being played abroad appear to be games that are in the regular season.
A precedent will be set with these 2 games and would potentially make the premier league go for a similar option rather than adding an extra game.

Need to stop calling it football and start calling it moneyball.

It’s a terrible idea which is motivated by greed. You cannot possibly have a 39th game and maintain the integrity of the competition.
Awful, awful idea. And don’t get me started on the super league!

Agree 100% TA.

Words fail me on the 39th nonsense.

Said this in work the other day, I fully expect the FA Cup final to be held in the USA or Saudi Arabia in the next 5 years.

Too much messing about with football now. I remember on a goal kick, the ball had to leave to box before it could be touched again and kick off ment all players had to be in their own half and ball must be played forward into opponents half before it could get passed back to midfield. Too much messing around with rules. Can't even tackle now incase you go in full blooded and the player you tackle is a big girls blouse and rolls around or cries.
