Why oh why can we not have Braiden Graham in our team, time and time again missed chances from our misfiring Beto and Barry, we should have been 3 nil up at half time last night with game over, instead we sit back after a great 25 minutes ans see out a 1-1 draw, valuable points being lost in all these games we just have to change our front line.

Guernsey I'm all for giving these young lads a go but is Moyse.

04 Nov 2025 15:07:04
If he was ready or good enough to be at this level he’d be in the squad or would’ve been snapped up by someone else.

He’ll play, struggle badly because he’s a kid, then people will moan at Moyes for playing a kid with ZERO professional experience, in the premier league as a lone striker.

04 Nov 2025 15:44:51
Like they do now.

04 Nov 2025 15:58:40
Oh like Beto, Barry, McNeil etc etc who are all ready and in the squad so must be good enough, yeah right.

Why only ask for our under 18 striker then? Why not just play the whole under 18s and just have Ndiaye and Grealish start?

Liverpool went on a bad run, why didn’t he just play the same team against Villa that he did against Palace in the week, they can’t have done any worse right?

This “play the kids because Rooney was great” thing is nonsense. We don’t have a single player in our academy who is going to make it in our first team. This “they can’t do worse than what we have” thing sounds great until they actually play and you realise, oh wait, they can do worse and you’ve also killed their confidence.

Our fanbase has no patience for youngsters, if we play Graham against Fulham, he’d be isolated, he’s also tiny with no pace, he’d get boo’d off at half time and fans would be chanting for Beto or Barry the whole game.

I remember this stuff with Cisco Junior, “he can’t be worse than what we have”. Moyes started him against Leeds in the cup and it was one of the worst performances ever displayed by an Everton player and he never played again.

If they are good enough, they are old enough, we do not have anyone with that level of talent or even physicality. We already leave our 6 foot 5 striker isolated and you want to throw up a 5 foot 8 17 year old upfront on his own because “he also won’t score so why not ruin his future”.

We will never know mate if we don’t try, at the end of the day a couple of games would not hurt, see what they have got, because what we have at the moment i xxxx.

Graham also plays in an under 21 side who have beaten recently by the likes of Tamworth, Doncaster, drawn with Brackley town. Hardly screams give them a chance in the premier league XI. Comparing giving them a chance to someone like Rooney is night and day. But yea let’s throw him in and possibly ruin any chance he may have.

{Ed025's Note - no one is saying he will pull up any trees JW but surely a cameo from the bench with 10 minutes or so to go wont do any harm mate, lets be honest he has to be better than that waste of space McNeil and our 2 planks who pretend to be strikers, and you never know..

04 Nov 2025 17:11:53
The coaches do know though don’t they, they watch every game. If Graham was better than Beto or Barry, he’d be straight in. Moyes wants to win games as much as we want we want the team to.

04 Nov 2025 17:24:46
I agree to a cameo here and thereED025 but people are talking like he needs to be starting. Players like dibling who we paid a decent amount for, aren’t even getting that.

So there’s no hope for anyone else. Do think we have to cut our losses with them 2 in January and try bring in an Ivan Toney or someone like that. But this is Everton.

{Ed025's Note - i think we may have to pay clubs to take them Jam, but its not just the forwards because they are so isolated and for me we need a marauding No 10 who can receive the ball in the middle from our wide men and run at defences, all this hoof the ball up to the big man and hope for 2nd phase ball is old hat mate..

04 Nov 2025 17:45:21
I wouldn't expect the likes of BG to be starting if selected in a squad but, as Ed says, giving them ten mins here and there can't do much harm. It might even give the other two a kick up the arse knowing that they aren't just competing against each other.

04 Nov 2025 17:52:33
Richy please.

04 Nov 2025 18:21:48
And there lies the problem Ed. We play a loan striker punting long balls up to him and expect him to produce. And for all those shouting for Richarlison back I can remember him having the same problems when he was a loan striker.
Ed is correct it is pointless playing this formation if you don’t have a ten to support him.

{Ed025's Note - we have nothing productive in the middle BMD, we go wide and stay wide so its easy to double up on Jack and Illy and this negates any progress towards goal, to be honest mate its not much better than what Dyche served up no matter what people try to tell us, we are so 1 dimensional and im afraid thats down to the manager..

04 Nov 2025 18:22:44
Be a gamble that GB and they would want cash for him. Watched him a few times, certainly lost pace and as a No9 he is chasing shadows. Loved the lad when he was with us but his 60 mill did a bit for our PSR. Quite a few in the Championship putting the goals away.

04 Nov 2025 19:06:55
I don’t get this “he has to be better” mentality. Players can always get worse. What would Graham actually be able to do upfront? He’s too short to win headers, so that’s already the one thing we expect crossed off the list. Is he really strong? No. Well maybe he can be like Defoe and be dead fast and a lethal finisher right? Well, no, he isn’t fast and his goal record isn’t anything remarkable at any level.

We’ve bought him to move him on for a small profit, that’s it. He isn’t premier league standard and never will be and before someone says “well is Beto? ” No, but Beto has scored goals, not many, but if Graham played the games for us Beto has done, I’d be amazed if he had 1. There are levels to this.

I think it's more of a 'can't do much worse than he has to be better', swan. Barry might be over 6ft but he looks like he could do with a good meal inside him and I don't think he is ready for this league either. There's nothing that I can add to the Beto debate that I haven't been saying for over a year, he needs to be sold in January.

We knew that we had to muddle on until January the second the summer window closed but I still expected both of our forwards to contribute with goals. Sadly, their inability to finish even the simplest of chances has hampered us and has potentially cost us points in the games so far. Everyone is fed up and rightly so, no matter which opinion us fans have. Some blame the manager, others the players but, regardless, we still have to muddle on until the next window opens. Hopefully the striker predicament is solved then.
