On the bases that we all have a right to are opinion, my opinion is that Dibling s best position, is on the transfer list, and, if we get lucky, we might get 1/2 our money back, provided they have not been to any of the games he's started.

We don't want to get our money back. He was bought in to be used sparingly at first as DM, as stated from the off.

Well, that's positive?

Makes no sense, GB. We spent 40M on a young kid who we plan on only using sparingly, when we could have spent the money on a right-back that we have needed for years. Add the 8M that we paid for Aznou, and we could have got a good right-back.

Every transfer, whether it be a player from abroad or from these shores, is a gamble. We all know next to nothing about Dibbling or how he has settled after moving up to Merseyside.

Is he homesick? Does he train well? Does he not turn up to training some days? Does he not listen to his coaches/manager when training? Does he like a tipple? Does he look after himself properly?

As fans, we only get half the story.

We can speculate, but that still gets us nowhere fast. Sometimes it just takes time for players to settle. Maybe we will not see the best of him until next season, when he's got a pre-season with us under his belt. I've said it before in here, Baines was similar when he first came, and the management had to be patient with him until he was ready to be properly integrated into the squad.

Solid post as always, BP.

He has certainly not impressed since his move, mate, but I refuse to believe that a player that looked as good and exciting as he did last season could just suddenly drop to the level we have seen in a Blue shirt.

The way he has been handled, in my opinion, is simply p*** poor. Everybody knows that attacking players, more than any others, need to build up a rhythm and confidence, and he has had no opportunity or help to do that.

He was given 5-minute cameos in very tough games away at Liverpool and City, where the game was all but settled. He was then given 45 minutes at home to Palace when we were without KDH due to suspension. The entire Everton team turned in the worst 45 minutes of football we have seen this season, imo, so it wasn't just Dibling at fault.

We didn't see him then until Ndiaye had gone to AFCON, and then he has been back out since.

Not only has the lad played a total of 348 minutes of football, he has also never done it when we have had our best players available.

He has come to a new club with a big price on his head. He is a young lad who it is no secret is very shy and quiet. I imagine it would help him if he could look to lean on the likes of Ndiaye and KDH in a game, as opposed to McNeil and Iroegbunam.

To reiterate, the lad has been absolutely uninspiring for us in the minutes he has had, but those minutes have been insulting 5-minute cameos, and with players that are nowhere near the calibre of our usual starters.

I personally won't be judging him until he has been given time to find his feet, build in confidence, and even potentially get the chance to work with a manager who knows how to get the best out of him.

Look at young Amad at United. Signed at the age of 18 for 20m from Atalanta 5 years ago. Got a handful of starts for them and did nothing. Was shipped out to Rangers the following season and then Sunderland. The lad is now a quality player and would get into most PL sides.

We as humans all grow and develop differently. I, as a 19 y/o, was very naive and immature. It can be very scary suddenly being out of your home surroundings and safety net.
You have to grow up, and sometimes fast, when you join the big world.
In Dibbling's case, he's never really left that football school environment, but now he's away from his family and support; he's got a lot to get used to. He apparently is an amazing talent and will be a star.

We just need to give him time. Moyes knows what he's doing. He's an excellent man manager, and I suspect he's trying to push some buttons to get a response. It's up to Dibbling to show Moyes he's ready. Let's not throw the baby out with the bath water. I envisage some minutes in games when we're comfortable, and if he loses the ball expressing himself, it won't matter, and 50, 000 of us groaning won't play on his mind.

Bm, Cheers mate. I honestly believe that there is something going on with him behind the scenes, not football related. If it is a case of shyness or being homesick, then I'm sure we will be seeing a lot more of him next season.

As I've alluded to above, Barnes was very shy when he first arrived, which caused problems, but he turned out quite decent! Patience is key.
