Harry Wilson Opts for Elland Road Over Everton. I can't say I am too concerned about this one. What say my fellow evertonians?

{Ed025's Note - i would have liked him as part of the squad TB, but i have to say im not his biggest fan mate, good highlight reels and a top dead ball specialist but his overall game not that impressive for me..

Agree0 Disagree0

4 year contract on big wages too. If he's chosen Leeds, it's for the money. Fair play to him.

Missed that one if we were ever after him, just hope we get Bowen.

I would be surprised if Bowen moves from London tbh.

Seen we are linked with Bowen, 29, and Jesus, 29 again, very uninspiring. 2 players in the twilight of their respective careers, no doubt looking for a payday. Might be cobblers/lazy journalism anyway. I just wish we could unearth some gems. Someone like a Rayan or Semenyo.

So, the new age for being in the twilight of a career has tumbled to 29 now, has it? Why do we get hung up on age? If a player is 29/30 but is a lot better than what we have, then what's the problem? For the record, I'd steer clear of Jesus, but Bowen, I'd take no danger.

Think the problem, BP, is that these players want long contracts and big wages like Wilson. Now 29 isn't old, but it's still a gamble taking a player who will be a top earner well into his 30s.
As many have said before, we have been down this road before, and it nearly ruined us. And, people, please don't come back with, well, look at Messi and Ronaldo.

Those guys play on an entirely different level to anything we are looking at.
So, I guess the question is, do you want a player who can maybe give you two good seasons with no sell on value, or do you want a player who has potential to improve and either strengthen the team for the long term or even make the club a healthy profit if they move on?

BB, people used to moan about players being bought at age of 31 or 32 and now it seems that 29 is too old? That's the part I don't get, mate.

I agree, it's senseless to pay a 33 year old silly wages on a long term deal.

But a player at 29 will bring experience, sometimes leadership, and if they improve the squad, then why discriminate? Baffles me, mate.

Moyes has managed him before as well, just depends if his father-in-law will let him leave.

{Ed025's Note - and that could well be a sticking point Ron..
