I know football changes as times go on, which is only natural, but what has happened to the game when a club is now paying £117 million for a midfield player. I love football, but the need to be successful is getting ridiculous.

Poor Newcastle had to sell him last summer so they didn't fall foul of PSR. They wanted to keep him but after selling him he goes for £117 million. Plus they lost Tonali too. Shouldn't laugh but I can't help it. ?

{Ed001's Note - I think you are getting mixed up, Rogers has never been at Newcastle, Villa bought him from Middlesbrough, who got him from Man City, who got him from West Brom. I assume you mean Anderson, who went for less, as Chelsea had to agree to break that record fee or Villa wouldn't have sold Rogers.}

Newcastle losing Tonali then being gazumped by Villa for Johan Manzambi.
Already lost Gordon and now struggling to spend, as turned down in bid for Lucas Bergvall, not a good time to be a barcode.

Ah my mistake Ed001. I didn't know Rodgers had a bid in for him. I thought the op meant Anderson

{Ed001's Note - I was thinking you had done or got them mixed up.}

Because money is being printed at ridiculous rates otherwise the current financial system will implode.

If the uk was to declare bankruptcy to all its debtors there wouldn't be enough money to cover it that's how much of a mess we're in

100 million is like 60/70 mil pre Covid
