Alright Blues, with the right back situation I thought I’d throw this out there because both names keep popping up.
Rico Lewis and Brooke Norton‑Cuffy.
Two very different players, two very different profiles, and two very different price tags.
Rico Lewis (£30–35m)
City lad, technically miles ahead of most full backs his age. But he’s basically a midfielder playing at RB (and we've had this scenario before) , he's calm on the ball, press resistant and tidy in tight spaces. If Moyes wanted to build from the back and have the RB step inside, Lewis is perfect.
But… he’s not the most physical and you do wonder how he’d cope defensively in a team that doesn’t dominate possession like City. Also a big fee for someone who still hasn’t played a full season as a nailed‑on starter.
Brooke Norton‑Cuffy (£15–20m)
Completely different profile.
Proper right back. Strong, athletic, aggressive and already proven he can handle senior football week in, week out in Serie A. Looks like the type Moyes would trust immediately, he's solid defensively, got a good engine and gets forward with purpose.
He's cheaper, more ready made, and probably a more natural fit for how we actually play.
The big question is:
Are we better off going for a player with the higher ceiling in Lewis or the safer, more physical day one starter in Norton‑Cuffy?
My take is:
Lewis is the better footballer, but Norton‑Cuffy is the better right back for us right now.
Depends whether Moyes wants to evolve the style or stick with his more traditional defensive setup.
Curious what everyone else thinks. Would you take Lewis’ technical upside? Or Norton‑Cuffy’s physicality and reliability?

I would take both if money allows.. Lewis can play either side plus midfield.. BNC can also play wingback so squad would be more versatile. If only 1, I'd go for Norton Cuffy. Reminds me of a young raw Seamus.

For me, it has to be Spence, he's made for us, if we have the chance he has to be the one, he could be our Kyle Walker, the other 2 for me are big risks, one is small and playing for City, how well are you really tested as a defender, and the other hasn't even been tested.
But saying that, if Spence is a no go, then Rico would be the 1 I'd go for out of the 2 of them.

Cuffy maybe have some percentage, but Spence we cannot afford.
