Question: Why wasn’t Patterson given a run in the first team last season? Have we been told anything on that? Not that I think he’s the solution to our problem there, but we signed him for 14m 21/22 as a rb for the future from Rangers. His best season, where he actually played, was under Lampard in 22/23, and then we brought in Dyche and he didn’t like him.
Not saying he’s the solution, just I have kind of seen this before with Jonjoe Kenny in the past. Youth academy graduate coming through when Coleman was starting to lose his legs. Mind you, I don’t think he was amazing, but I don’t know if we should have let him go on a free.

He played Forest away didn't he?
From what I've seen of pre season, he seemed all over the place. Little positional awareness and well off the pace. I just think he's not great. We've had some decent players from north of the border but he seems a flop.
Sadly, not good enough, obviously, same as Jonjoe Kenny, if they were good enough, or better than they would've played more.

He's absolutely atrocious and only here cos nobody wants him, and he tends to be injured during transfer windows. What is it, 3 managers who've not played him? Someone can blame DM, right?

I'm a Rangers fan as much as a Toffee (a cursed life, honestly) , and I was stunned when we signed him. He'd barely played any proper football and was as raw as they come. It always felt like a gamble for us in the Premier League. Since then, injuries have absolutely ruined him at the worst possible point in his career, any momentum he might've built was wiped out before it even started.
He should have gone down a division or back to Scotland.
But let's be real: it's not just the injuries. The constant chaos behind the scenes with managers changing every five minutes, different philosophies, different systems, it has destroyed more than one player at this club.

Why did Barry get 21 starts, why didn't Aznou get more than 2 minutes, why did Kdh get forced into an attacking role, why did Mykolenko start almost every game, why wasn't Graham given even a second?

Not saying Patterson was the solution by any means, I think he's poor, but he is 1000% a better right back than O'Brien.

I don't think he's better than O'Brien - Patterson has no present, past or future with EFC and should be moved on pronto.
- He also had a fight with Dyche, I recall - think the Scottish word for him is pish.
