Has anyone seen Norgaard play? I can't remember seeing him. £7 mill, why? McNeil/Johnston £20 mill?
{Ed025's Note - it does seem extremely cheap DMS but he is 32, he played 10 times for Arsenal last season though so he cant be a bad player..

He is a very good player, was Brentford captain as well.

Christian Norgaard is one of the Premier League's best traditional No. 6s. He isn't flashy, but he excels at the fundamentals: protecting the defence, reading danger early, winning duels and keeping possession moving. His value comes from positioning and intelligence rather than his athleticism.
He is adept at breaking up opposition attacks, protecting the back four, great at winning aerial duels, distributing the ball efficiently to start attacks and punching it through the lines to the attackers and is quality at organising teammates defensively and maintaining shape and structure.
For an out and out 6, his goal contributions aren't to bad either. 129 games and has 11 goals and 12 assists.
He didn't play last season but his last season for Brentford was his best in terms of numbers.

He would be the only real Gana replacement in the team. He is less aggressive and busy than Gueye but Gueye, for all his good work, used to leave gaping holes in the middle where the better sides exploited it.
Brilliant signing in my opinion. If you are wondering how a good player can be so cheap. As Ed said, he is 32 and Arsenal only paid 10m for him. They barely used him and by all accounts he is a good lad and great professional, they didn't want to stand in his way.
This is a great deal for us and will very much be similar to the Barry signing.

Yes, he's 32 and chances are we may only get 1, maybe 2 seasons out of him. But he is a very clever footballer who is very good at what he does. He's a bit like Gana, but can pass a ball and, at times, makes the game look easy.
7m, think Arteta did us a favour there. Now, if he would just let us have their young full back.

Norgaard is a brilliant bit of business, and for 7m it's a snip even at 32. Gana was good, and in his prime was elite, but trust me, so is this guy. In this position he'll play for another 3 or 4 years at a very high level.
This is turning into the best squad we've had for a very long time, and, with the young players, will only get better.
Finally, we're getting in the position of needing just a couple of players each year instead of 5, 6 or 7 like this and last summer.
