Our problems upfront are well documented. But looking back to the post Lukaku period, we had Richarlison, Dcl, Gylfi Siggurdson. All of those players were double figures for goals if fit. We all debate our lack of a striker, but I think if we keep Ndiaye, KDH improves again and George, Diblinbg, Rohl etc. are allowed to develop. Plus the possibility of Grealish coming, I think we should have enough goals in the side to challenge for European places.

If Jarrad can stay fit, and finally bring in a right back. we should be ok at the back. Mykolenko is a weak link for me. Would like to see a left back come in at some point. People tell me he's a good defender. not for me. Whats he on now for us about now approx 200 games. 1 goal. 1 assist. maybe. answers on a postcard

I have to say I always liked Myko, but have really noticed a big drop off in his defending. I could look past the assists and goals if he was defending well, but he looks so nervous on the ball. We definitely need a new left back as well as a right back, maybe in a couple years, like the right back saga.

Mykos pre season form hasn't been great. He's made us vulnerable down our left, which I fear will be exploited. I will not fault his commitment and work rate, but he's an area of concern right now.
I'd love him to have a great game on Saturday to help boost his confidence.

I think the whole back line improves when JB is in it, so with regard to the Mykolenko situation, is his lack of forward play due to the insecurity of who is covering the space when he goes forward. Both Tarks and Keane are right sided, having watched all the pre season games, there is a difference to his play in this respect. Defensively, both T and K get drawn to the right when Job isn’t there or Seamus, as he was solid defensively and excellent going forward, which leaves the left centre half and RB position exposed with only Mykolenko to cover both roles.

The improved midfield will help, but we need a left sided centre half to bring the best out of Mykolenko, also an experienced left sided winger like Jack, although George has been getting back and doing a job, just not seen enough in game time. The return of Jimmy will help and who knows what Norgard will bring. UTFT.

He is a good defender. His weakness is going forward, which is highlighted by his failure to get back into position. He is obviously rated by our coaching staff, hence his contract extension. Aznou is a wingback. I do wonder what he would be like paired with Myko.

I can only attend home games, so my opinion is based on those. I have stated often that I would love to read opinions from our away supporters (biased, but they are some of the best I have heard on TV during a game) .

Aznou has to be given a chance. Hear a lot of people saying he can't defend, but he looked pretty good last week, calm under pressure and supported his winger going forward. Moyes brought him on when George replaced Ndiaye out wide. I would like to see the lad given a go with Ndiaye ahead of him. Just think Baines and Piennar.

I've never understood the hate for Myko. He's not great going forward, but was very important to us in a very difficult time. Solid, usually. I would rather Aznu going forward, with Myko as backup. But Moyes is too cautious, so can't see this happening.

Spot on, Big C.

It's not hate, Charlie. Don't think anybody hates the guy. He's just not that good, and, if as people say, he isn't very good at getting forward, then you would expect him to be excellent in defence. Trouble is, he isn't.
