Evening, my fellow Evertonians. I can see TFG and Angus K trying a charm offensive and maybe signing one, possibly two, players and putting the spin of Donald Trump, telling us that where we are now is progress as this is a long term project and that our future is going to be brighter.
Yet they seem to be intent on looking at our best assets to see if they hold any value and running our club on the cheap, yet stating we should have made European competition on the minisule budget they provided last year. It now appears smoke and mirrors, or am I being harsh, my fellow Evertonians.

Harsh, in my opinion, mate. Our financial situation, and the turnover of players before last season had even started, meant any rebuild was going to take a few windows to sort. That was even before the new financial regulations came in.
How many of our top players have they sold? I might be wrong, but I don't think we have sold anyone in the last year or two. They have come in and given us some financial structure that was obviously really needed after the splashing of cash by the previous regime.
We won't see the benefits of the new stadium until next season, and then we can compete a bit better when it comes to signing good players. European football will help with that, if we can secure a spot in one of those cups.
It's a word that most fans don't like to hear, but patience is needed from the fan base for just one more season! We are heading in the right direction, and a few more signings, whether that be on loan or bought outright, and we should be ok this season. That's my 2ps worth anyway, mate.

That's an excellent post, BP. Very reasonable and you're so right about patience. But patience for football fans means we have to put up with losing games, which is very painful, and only makes waiting more difficult to bear.
When we start to realise the financial benefit of our fantastic stadium, we will need to be better at recruiting than we have been. Can't go through the cycle of buying poorly like last time.

Cheers, TA. Couldn't agree more, mate. We will have to improve our recruitment, then I think we will be in a better position to buy better players in comparison to today.
To be fair to Tfg, Roma are in better shape these days and they purchase decent players for that team and league. We will get there, pal. Just got to hope it won't take too long.

Good post, bluepotato, very level headed and reasonable. Totally agree. Folk on here getting their knickers in a twist re players we haven't signed, and players we haven't sold. If we sign nobody else and lose nobody else, would it be the end of the world? I don't think so. People very quickly forget what a disaster the club was prior to the current ownership.
End of last season was disappointing, and I could see the case for parting ways with Moyes, but we look a good team and we just need to get behind said team and manager. I was at the Preston game, amongst the Preston fans. The away support was immense.
