So overall are those in better than those out.

Overall, yes.

Are any of our wingers better than N'Diaye? No.
Did we replace Beto? No.
Have we got better right backs now? Well yeah we had none before.
Our left backs have actually got worse because our best left back got loaned out.
Our midfield has improved.
So I'd say overall, no, our squad has got smaller and we have got barely anyone to play in key positions (full back and striker) .
We just have a really good midfield now.

What best lb was that? Might have dodged a bullet with Balogun. Stupid selling Beto before getting a replacement.

Glad to see the back of him myself.

Aznou
People can say he's unproven, but I'm sorry, by definition of not being Vitaly Mykolenko, he's automatically our best left back.
As for Beto, he worked hard and was always a threat and option.
Yeah, he wasn't the most technically gifted, but I don't really care, he got goals, 21 in 40 starts, not a bad record for someone people talk about as if he is the worst striker we've ever had.
I'd rather have him than not have him.
He's a much better option than Dan James upfront.

Beto is by far one of the worst forwards to wear our shirt. 21 goals in 40 games sounds impressive, Swan, but the eyes don't lie when you watch him play. Shots going out for a throw in, when it was easier to hit the target, etc.
But he 'worked hard' so his lack of ability didn't really matter. If only Myko made as much effort as Beto did! We did well to get as much as we did for him. Not getting in a replacement is a problem.

I've seen way worse forwards in my 28 years on this planet play for us. Strac scored 2 goals, was dreadful, and is worshipped. Anichebe had a 1 in 11 record or something and barely moved, and is also loved. Niasse was worse (still love him) , Tosun, Rondon, Maupay, Sandro.
Give me a hard working technically limited 1 in 4 striker like Beto over a lazy technician like Sandro or Jelavic.
He's no Lukaku, not even close, but a lot of the talk from our fans is very reminiscent of when we had Lukaku. "Yeah he scores goals and is a threat to defenders, but his first touch isn't as good as Jelavic so Jelavic is better."
Beto isn't some club legend, but considering how many lazy frauds we've had at the club in recent memory, I'm appreciative of a man who always tried his best.
When people were out here calling DCL the Yorkshire Zlatan despite the fact the man barely moved, never scored, but boy could be chest a ball (before losing it) .
As for Mykolenko, he's way less technically gifted than Beto, which makes his laziness even more offensive.

Technically, he is awful. I've said it from the start and he's done nothing to suggest otherwise, he is a poor Premier League forward. I'm not even getting into a debate over him, I'm glad he's gone, but we should have had a replacement in. 17.5m is robbery.
