Alrite all hope everyone is well including the eds just curious if any of the eds know there's rumours online that doucoura won't be offered a contract the end of season and will be released is that true and also have the club approached him with a lower contract offer then what's he's on and he has refused or is it just everton not offering him a new deal any input or information would be grateful thank you if he accepted a lower contract than he's currently on then happy days but if not wish him all best in future.
{Ed025's Note - as far as i know Andy the club will not be offering AD a new contract or exercising their option for a further year, its probably a money issue i expect but he wont want to take a drop so it looks by all accounts that he will probably move on mate..

We can’t have bit part squad players on that! Only the clubs with stupid amounts of revenue will be able to do that. Sadly, we aren’t there yet and I doubt we will be able to match them for a long, long time.

All these players coming to the end of their contracts and on exorbitant wages need getting rid of, this summer will see a load of them out the the door hopefully.

I appreciate what he’s done for the club but I think it’s the right move for both parties. In saying that I bet he’s going to relish getting booed every time he’s on the ball at Anfield towards the end of the month.

Wouldn’t surprise me if they let his contract expire and they present a new 1-2 year contract as a back up squad player at a salary which suits that role.
Take it or leave it. He then has a decision to make.

I find it quite bizarre that people praise players when we have struggled at the wrong end of the league with these players Need to get rid and change the mentality of this club, and maybe some of its supporters.

BB, nobody is really praising him in this thread but he does deserve a level of recognition and respect from the fan base. He scored an important goal or two to help keep us in this league so he has my full appreciation for that alone. Obviously, age is catching up with him a bit but if he goes then he does so with gratitude from me.
I find it bizarre that people are too quick to slate our players even if they have played an important role to keep this club where it belongs. Nothing more fickle than football fans I suppose mate!
