If Sanchez is actually available and for only 13m and we don't go for him, we are beyond stupid. I understand some people's calls for saving most business for the summer but a player of his quality would make sense in the summer, so if we can get him now and for a modest fee, we should not wait around.

As long as they’re of the quality that we’d go for in the summer, may as will go for it, you recoup more for every place you finish higher up the league table, good argument that we’d recoup a chunk of what we spend in prize money.

You aren't wrong GB mate, I guess I was more specifically meaning overspending and getting pants pulled down in the Jan window. It is much easier to get business done in summer as teams have more time to plan and get replacements in etc. I do still think though that there are some deals that are easier than others to make. I would wager that the less glamorous positions e. g. RB/LB are easier to recruit for without being shafted.
Totally agree that we need players in to help us finish as high as we can though. I think that we are that poor in some positions that we could do this without spending a whole lot of money as well mate.
