While we rebuild the team and with a difficult summer window with the World Cup going on, would qualifying for European football be the best outcome? Under this new system we get something like 80% limit on turnover, but under UEFA laws that’s limited to 70%, so effectively we’re allowed to spend less on new players. Certainly, the Conference income wouldn’t make that worthwhile.
Europa a possibility we’d reap the benefits, but both of those streams would probably be added to next year’s spend allowance. The other option that we’d be in a Champions League place, whilst unlikely, with the best will in the world we’re not ready to compete at that level. Don’t get me wrong, as a fan I’d love European football, but financially is it the best option while we rebuild?

Agree Big C, as happy I am to be challenging, it's not the end of the world if we don't. We can see with United the difference no mid-week games can have - I bet the difference in prize money finishing 6 league places higher is more than reaching final of ECL.
