You do all realise that if you fill the team with thirty year olds and the manager gets the boot half way through the season, then the new manager coming in has sod all to work with.
We are supposed to be building a squad for the future. Moyes is building a squad for the now.

We could if we are lucky get one half decent season, but what then? You can't just go out and buy more players because these older players will be on a minimum two year deal. So yet again the team is standing still because. The wage bill will be compromised, and not for the first time.

We have a good season and then we build on it?

What with?

You took the words out my mouth, JB, it's so obvious.

With more signings. Isn't that how everyone else does it? You don't keep the same squad for 10 years. You try to improve year on year.

Think we've done a lot of building for the future recently and, though I think we should keep doing it, we really do need players that can walk straight into the first team.

Get these players in on high salaries and you won't be able to add to the squad. We have been down this road before, and we got royally fecked.

Didn't we build a new stadium so we could attract players on decent wages?

Too many youngsters, too many 30 somethings? Isn't it about balance? The issue, for me, is buying players and not using them, or playing them in positions they don't stand a chance of being effective in.
Right now we need a right back, left back, and a striker pronto.

Don't care if, for now, they are 30 or 21. They need to be good and they need to start. There is more required, of course, but get this done first as we have no balance until this is sorted.
