Just read that we have an interest in Como winger Assane Diao, 20-year-old has spent two seasons with the Serie A club, scoring 10 goals across 32 games and earning him a Senegal debut. Source ssn. Anyone know anything?

Heavily linked last summer but we had no money for their crazy price tag.

6ft 1in right-footed winger, used mainly on the left by Fabregas at Como.
Explosive pace and good ball carrier, would be a great outlet.
Despite his injuries last season, if you look at some of his metrics, no winger registered more progressive carries (5.82) or was involved in more offensive duels (16.28) per 90 minutes in Serie A.
He's also pretty good in the air, but you would sort of expect that from his 6'1 frame.

2024/25 season he joined Como from Real Betis in January, bagged 8 goals and 1 assist in just 15 Serie A games.
Last season limited by foot and hamstring injuries, yielding 2 goals and 1 assist in 17 appearances. Valuation may have dropped because of that and be better priced.

He would suit the Premier League and us.
Joining his countryman Ndiaye could help him settle.

We are rumoured to have shown interest in him and also Dario Osorio, both offer good goal threats. Assane Diao is more suited for counter attacking, will happily drag the play 40 yards up the pitch with his carries and is more direct, rumours they have already turned down EUR40m offers.
Osorio is a cheaper option, EUR20m is rumoured.
Good at unlocking defences and low blocks, accurate passer, more playmaker pulling defenders out of position, often likes to slow the play down and pick apart a defence.

We seem to still have a lot of interest in forwards right now, more than full backs. ?

If we buy enough Como players, do we get Fabregas?

{Ed025's Note - let me tell you where i am guys, i thought Moyes would get the Scotland job but obviously that ship has sailed, i would love a right back and a striker but how that plays out is anyones guess, for me we are all blues and we have to stick together and get behind the manager and the players, we can moan all we want but we have no influence on what happens so why not just see how things pan out and hopefully have a good season, whether you like or dislike certain players or the manager lets just get behind them because what else can we do?. its a clean slate imo and if after a good number of games things are looking bleak then that is the time to moan and vent your frustrations, we are Evertonians and its in our blood so lets hope for the best cheer the guys on and try and enjoy it...cheers..

Hey Ed . Isn't being an Everton fan all about them building us up, us loving them, something going disastrously wrong and throwing points away then absolutely hating them for ruining our weekend being their biggest critics then after spitting out all our frustrations over the initial days after the game we just fall in love again and drive them on with our support for the next match!
Oh and snarling at any pundit who criticises our team as it's our team to criticise

That's how it feels at times

I will be fully behind the team and whoever pulls on the blue shirt against Palace at the weekend and really hoping we get our heads in gear and don't disappoint me after a long journey up, because the journey home after is always tougher after a defeat so their has been a lot of tough journeys home
?

Now COYB let's smash up those eagles and have Ndiaye flapping his wings after scoring! ???

{Ed025's Note - we all like a moan now and again ST and im certainly no different mate, lets see how things go and im right behind the club just now and am looking forward to see how we do, i cant guarantee that if things go tits up that i wont vent because i will...but for now im Blue and proud.. :)

Ed I am more optimistic now than I was this time last season. So far we have bought well and have some good young talent coming through. Yes we still need to fill a couple of positions but the window is not closed yet so let's just stay positive and hope we can kick on this season.

{Ed025's Note - im with you all the way Brass..

Spot on, ed25, very well said, mate. Better players will hopefully bring about a better style of football and a more enjoyable season, especially at home this time.

If we are struggling by Christmas then I'm sure DM will pay the price. Until then, I'm quietly optimistic of a more progressive season for us. I'm also hopeful that we will get a few more bodies over the line before the window closes. UTFT

{Ed025's Note - its our team BP and we will all stick with them mate and hope for the best mate COYB..

I am not looking forward to the season.
I think we are in a good position.
I was intrigued by Kinnear's words about 70% of our business will be done in the last two weeks. That's potentially a lot of business still to be done. ??
Let's make the league envious again of the best passionate supporters in the Premier League.
UTFT.
