Vardy now? FFS
Bring back Rooney while you’re at it.
Can they get any more desperate and incompetent?
Who is driving this train wreck?

{Ed025's Note - Wagatha Christie.. :)

Never thought I'd say it, but would take him till January.

No one expected to be where we are with strikers, but he's probably worth a short term contract, if you need a goal in the last 20 minutes, stick him on.

Vardy is sitting on the bench. This is Mr recruiter mess up, trying to cover his arse and save his job.

A sad state of affairs, I don't think we have a choice but to sign a few freebies until January. If we need a late goal in any given game, you can't be relying on Barry, he is always knackered after about 70 mins. So the pattern of the game won't change, maybe we do need a Vardy just for a few months, he could be vital in last 15/20 minutes of games when you're at the business end of the match.

Only alternatives I can see are Johnson or George, while we are at it a left back freebie if possible. 19 registered players with 16 outfield players is an absolute joke in the best and toughest league in the world.

To be honest.. I would have Vardy.. still technically better than Barry, and he will get goals in this set up.. beggars can't be choosers.

I'm pretty sure after listening to his presser that he's not looking to bring anyone in. He did say they'd look at it but I didn't see much desire from him. Looks like we will be making do.
I've never stated any real support for Moyes since he came back.

In fact I've been pro Moyes out. But if there's a manager who is ideal in situations like this then it is Moyes. Backs to the wall and he's your man.

{Ed025's Note - i cant argue with that Ace..

I just wish Moyes would be a bit more adventurous and put George up top with Jack + Tyler feeding him. Could be worth trying against Wolves.

04 Sep 2026 18:16:58
He will get goals in this set up? What, as a long striker, having the ball launched up to him?

7 goals in Serie A last season, averaging a goal every 4 games. His legs have completely gone, he's got no pace anymore, and even in his last season at Leicester he was atrocious.

Do people still judge players based on names and not performances?

When asked about the Irish red head kid, he deflected undue pressure by saying he didn't see him as a striker, not in the Premier League at this time, but then made a point that other players like George had been tried uptop in training anyway and would probably be ahead of him.

However, he did say sometimes the best youngsters are actually not necessarily playing in positions that need cover, and it's kids who play the right positions we're currently short that'd probably have a chance of stepping up.

Yes FBS, but I was a bit confused by what he was saying. Sounded a bit contradictory, but I may have misheard.
