I'm sure we are going to get linked with everyone but would it be worth a gamble on ferguson from Brighton if the price was right £20-30m? I don't know much about him other than he had that good season and he's struggled this season.
19 May 2025 17:22:14
I don’t think we should be gambling at all in my opinion (been there and done that) and from what I’ve seen of him I don’t even understand the hype.
Spend the 40 on Richarlison. He’s proven, he’s in his prime at 28 and he already knows what playing for Everton is all about. I personally loved how 30,000 plus fans were back singing his chant yesterday, I just feel we should change one of the lines to “we shafted spurs 20 million, we think he’s f brilliant …. ” ?
I got him in the starting 11 in the first game at the dixie
Bring him home. UTFT ?.

Not so sure mate he missed 33 games injured for Spurs, £40 million could be better spent in my opinion.
19 May 2025 19:05:15
Injured or he didn’t fancy it for them GB? Also what is this major injury he had for Spuds ? it certainly wasn’t career threatening.
In my opinion and the majority of fans at the game yesterday this deal is a no brainer. I haven’t heard anything as of yet but I’d go as far as saying I’m confident he’ll be in a blue shirt again next season, it will be a blessing.

DPP - you say we shouldn’t gamble and then go on to say we should spend £40m on an injury plagued ex player!
Spending any money on Richarlison would be a massive gamble - was great when played for us but has never replicated since, has been plagued by injuries and is older! Avoid at all costs.
{Ed025's Note - im with you on this one Dan, massive gamble mate..
19 May 2025 20:14:54
He played shy of 1500 minutes of football for Spurs and still got 11 goals and 4 assists, which would comfortably make him our top goal scorer this season.
4 goals and 1 assist this season in 473 minutes this season, which would put him at 3rd for us this season.
Not really fussed if he comes or he doesn't but I don't buy into the "injury plagued" narrative that he has had painted at Spurs. Look at the entirety of their team and you could say that.
There is something to say about the style that the manager adopts and the whole team has been obliterated by his methods.
Could do a lot worse than having Richy in the attacking positions for us.
A loan with an option to buy would make great sense to me, especially when you consider we had Harrison, Lindstrom and Broja taking up those spots this season.
19 May 2025 22:21:44
It's about improving the team and if Richy comes back for any of Harrison, Lindstrom or Broja and DCl then it's an improvement.
Definitely a loan though first.
Spurs got him off us when we pretty much had to sell, let's play them at their own game.
{Ed025's Note - a loan would be great Smit..
19 May 2025 23:16:23
I don’t buy into the injury plagued player bit either, at all and imo in this day in age 40 million for Richarlison is a bargain and my original point a better option and much less of a gamble than buying Evan Ferguson for 30 million.
Time will tell I guess or hope!
20 May 2025 01:03:14
Get Fellows from WBA. what's his value? 10 - 15 million? Promising young winger which leaves 25 mill to spend on someone else. People say we have money to spend but we don't know how much. We need to be very frugal on who we sign and for how much.
20 May 2025 11:02:45
Richarlison not injury plagued?
In 4 seasons with us he missed 20 games through injury.
In 3 seasons with Spurs he missed 58 games through injury!
He’s definitely injury plagued, if could get over those injuries then he’s a cracking player.
However spending £40m on him is definitely not a bargain.
As others have said, if we can get him in on loan with an option to buy that could be a decent deal, but spending anywhere near £40m on him would be a massive gamble and be like previous regimes recruitment.
We need to stop being sentimental and start operating like a proper football club.
20 May 2025 11:41:40
I want Richy back where he belongs! Not the sensible choice I know. Can't help it.
20 May 2025 12:53:25
20 games in 3 seasons isn't really injury plagued. The time he has spent on the treatment table at Spurs is a bit worrying but it should also be put into context. The amount of injuries in that squad since AP took over suggests that they kind of overtrain, there's definitely something not right with their training regime which ever way you splice it.
As everyone else is saying, a loan would be the best option all round. He would improve this squad and, more importantly, the forward line, so it is a deal worth pursuing.
20 May 2025 13:07:31
So out of 152 games he missed 20. Considering the way he plays and gives his all, I would take missing him for 5 games a season, especially when he scored 43 goals in those games, around 10 goals a season player easy.
Our top scorers struggle to hit that every season.
A good rest over the summer. Being back where he feels at home. A completely different style of playing. I think we would see his injuries disappear over night.
Again, not majorly fussed if we get him or we don't. Never really thought he was particularly great on the eye when he was last at us but can't fault his effort and the numbers speak for themselves.
20 May 2025 14:44:55
I’ve previously said it before - he was great when with us but hasn’t been the same since he left.
He only missed 20 games for us in 4 seasons but has already missed 58 games for spurs in 3 seasons, which I think highlights he’s not the same player.
If stays fit he massively improves us, however there’s no guarantee that will be the case, therefore it’s a massive gamble to spend £40m on him.
I’ll say it again - we need to stop being sentimental - was great with us but hasn’t shown that since he’s been at Spurs - to think coming back to us would make him be as good again and stop him having so many injuries that is just naive and wishful thinking.
If we are interested in him coming back then if we can get him in on loan with an option to buy then that would make sense - purchasing him this window wouldn’t.
20 May 2025 20:53:47
My original point is I that believe it’s less of a gamble buying Richarlison for 40m than Evan Ferguson for 30m and I agree with bp that a lot of Tottenhams team have strangely been injured this season under AP.
I like the loan to buy option but still think 40m is a bargain in this day in age.
20 May 2025 22:21:43
I really don't share the same love for Richarlison as some on here. Nothing against him, I love his passion for the club, but people have coined the phrase legend which in my opinion is nonsense. At 40 million i wouldn't go anywhere near him. Yes he has more ability than Harrison but that's not much of a yard stick. I'm not opposed to him returning but on a loan 1st. If you look at his career stats for everton last time and his goal return to me it isn't that spectacular. I also wonder if he's a bit similar to ndiaye who i really do rate highly! Only my opinion like!
{Ed025's Note - i share that opinion Witty..
