Just shows how far DM has taken us from one point above relegation to the heady heights of 8 th place, when he came in almost all of us on here didn't want him with me included, what has happened since that day is nothing short of amazing, most thought we would bein the relegation battle all season but hey presto here we are in the top ten with many talking about maybe 5 th spot is possible, thats, some achievement as to where we are now, well chuffed with the progress.

Have I said this before? I think Moyes is a fantastic manager, GB. ???

05 Mar 2026 17:38:42
Not fantastic, mate, simply the best. ???

05 Mar 2026 17:59:57
He's not fantastic or simply the best. At least from my point of view. Although you cannot argue with what he has done to accumulate the points we have.

But there is still plenty to critique, too: his late substitutions, playing players out of position when we have fit specialists who do fit, and the issue of mostly not performing in the first half and having to fight harder to make up for it in the second.

I didn't want him either, and there are times when I feel like he needs replacing, usually out of frustration after losing a completely winnable game. But we are safe and looking up, so I'm very relieved he's got us this far and deserves credit for that.

Good manager for sure.

05 Mar 2026 18:09:23
I don't think he's the best either, Toffee ace. I was just answering a stupid comment, mate, but he certainly deserves credit for where we are.

Moyes has done what Moyes does. He has stabilised the club & has us safe, well before squeaky bum time.
If you want attacking, dynamic football, then Moyes probably isn't your man. If you want enough points to look at Europe, but frustrations along the way, then you can't beat him.

Personally, I'd give him another 2 year contract, a bigger squad & see what he can do.

I am all for that, Welsh Trucker, mate, but until someone can do a better job than what Moyes is doing at the moment, mate, I will definitely stick with our present manager.

05 Mar 2026 19:54:32
Well, we have no idea who could do a better job; however, if anyone can do a better job, it's Moyes himself. Getting more points at home, getting some of the younger players ready and contributing sooner, better substitutions, improved recruiting, especially a right-back and striker, players who are ready to go into the starting eleven immediately.

05 Mar 2026 20:08:15
I'll go with that Bm, mate, but if it ain't broke, don't fix it. We are in 8th place, which is brilliant with what he has.

05 Mar 2026 21:12:07
Sorry, chaps, I was joking in my post. ?

06 Mar 2026 07:00:35
It will always be broke until we win something, GB. Hopefully Moyes can do it.

06 Mar 2026 08:05:20
Some have very short memories on here. Yes, we are safe in the League, which makes a nice change to previous seasons. However, if it is silverware we are after, then both cup performances were shocking, and they were the only competitions likely to give us any chance of achieving that.
Yes, we have a chance of Europe.

The next three or four games will decide that. But, given that we are out of the cups, and are not in Europe, we have more breaks than most teams and so fitness should be an issue.
Moyes has done a good job in the League, but he gets no praise for the way we wimped out of the cups.
Good manager, but great?

06 Mar 2026 08:05:30
Still think there is room for improvement, GB. We've thrown away points at home against teams we should be beating, based on form or league position, or at least put in a good performance against. Be it lack of strikers, playing players out of position, tactics, or making subs late (basically what BM said) , we could certainly do better.

06 Mar 2026 12:01:54
Nowhere near as good as Tina.

06 Mar 2026 13:53:50
Defo BR, mate. Two new strikers this summer are an absolute yes from me and a couple at the back would be useful as well, mate.

06 Mar 2026 14:40:45
As many different people have said many times before, we desperately need a proper RB who can not only defend, but supplement the attack. If we are to progress further next season, we cannot continue to fill in with O'Brien and, sometimes, Garner.

06 Mar 2026 17:50:08
Garner at R/B is a waste. O'Brian is a c/B and has done a good job there, but a good player in that position was available in the window. If TFG have real ambition, then we should have had the same market support as given to Roma.

07 Mar 2026 09:52:39
How many Champions League spots do Italy get? Roma are 4th, I think. If we did manage to qualify for Europe, would Roma qualify instead of us if we were in the same European competition? ?
