Keane, McNeil, Barry, Coleman, Patterson all need to go. Keane has been decent this year, but it's time for Obrien / Branthwaite now. I'd also get Stones if possible. 4 solid centre halves if add it, Tarks. (Senesi at Bornmouth also a free)
Harry Wilson instead of Grealish for me if we could get him.
Need to find replacement for Guaeye. Conner Gallagher, if Spurs go down. Haven't seen anything in Rohl.
Need a striker, which is clear to everyone. No idea who we could attract, but needs sorting. Would like to think this is getting addressed now.
Alcaraz - sell. Keep Dibling. I'd like to see more of George and see them both get a run of games.
After that at least x1 RB - get rid of Patterson and x1 LB - keep Myko as back up / competition - he's not awful and decent squad player.
{Ed025's Note - for me Sobs i would keep Keane, decent enough back up and with Jarrads injury woes we might need him, its a no from me for Stones, he would want a massive wage and City would want a decent fee i imagine mate, i would avoid Gallagher like the plague as well very lightweight for me, we deffo need a striker or two and if we could get 50p for Barry that would be a bonus, we need a right back as well as a priority as well..

Good assessment of the work in progress, mate. I'm sure DM will be given a decent budget this summer window, and I think most of what you have predicted will come about. We now are a well owned, managed and run Club now, good times ahead, mate.
Just shows that TFG made a very shrewd appointment with DM from where we were then and where we are now. I'm well chuffed with our progress.

Same as you Ed, definite no to Stones and Gallagher, also Keane has found his mojo and has to be a decent back up as I'm sure we will see new recruits in the summer at the back and front mate
{Ed025's Note - lets hope so GB..

Keep Keane, he will stay. Coleman will stay as backroom, Moyes already said they will find something for him. Might be a bit left field for some, but Branthwaite is a big risk at this level, only 23, operation on same leg that has just gone again, that is why I would keep Keane. Also, finding a RB/WB will release O'Brien to CB. Mykolenko and Aznou LB's, plus we have 4 CB's.
RW and Striker (with Beto) are a priority. George, brought in as an emergency replacement for Jack, has not turned out too well, so yes he goes back. No clue on Armstrong (not in squad matchday) , but watched PNE with Grandson season ticket holder (Ex Everton and Liverpool) a few times, and he, Armstrong, was immense, and look at PNE now.

If, and it's a big if, we make Europe, then we will need a much larger squad. So, having a massive clear out is highly unlikely. Yes, there are players that clearly need to go. But, there are a few mentioned here that will need retaining, even if it's just to play in early rounds of cups.

Everton are planning to trigger extensions in both contracts of Michael Keane and Vitalli Mykolenko that will keep both players at the club until 2027.

Both nowhere near good enough.

Opinions.

Ed you mentioned Stones and City wanting a decent fee, but isn't he out of contract in the summer? If wages are reasonable i'd take him, and Grealish, both of them when fit improve our team, I appreciate the 'when fit' though, especially with Stones unfortunately, esp as he can easily play cb, rb and cdm.
If we did get into Europe the squad will need to become deeper. i'd even look at Trippier, again will be free and covers both fullback, maybe not a 1st 11 but definitely a useful squad player.
If we did get into Europe we'll need Europe experienced players
Elsewhere, as we all know we need to strengthen with a Striker priority, a few added players like H Wilson, Mane (wolves) Sarr (Palace) would be lovely
Id keep Keane and Myko for the 1yr extension.
{Ed025's Note - i thought Stones had another year BB but i could be mistaken mate, yes we need a better squad with more depth but they have to be the right players, i fear these what you are calling experienced players are coming for a last big pay day and i was hoping that the Everton benevolent home for the elderly was closing, for me the likes of Stones and Trippier should not be what we are looking for, but of course thats just my opinion..

We've been down that road before Ed and it nearly ruined us. Strange that people suggesting we should sell Branthwaite because of his injury problems, yet want to get Stones in?
{Ed025's Note - i know Jarrad has had a lot of injuries BMD but hes still young and for me very talented and i think keeping him is a must, Stones is a good player as well but also injury prone but with age against him and the wages he would command makes him a pass for me mate..
22 Apr 2026 15:05:30
Totally agree Ed over Stones, I have posted something similar previously. Proven very injury prone, and will probably be looking for very high wages.
My view is we get a good RB in, and play O Brien in the middle with presumably Tarkowski, or we look for a younger CB for cover if JB is out long term again.
Will still have experience in defence with Tarkowski and Keane (if retained for further year as cover) .
{Ed025's Note - that works for me FG..

As I said, I totally get the argument against Stones due to injuries. Trippier was an idea mainly to help if we have a loooooong campaign next season, as said ie squad player.
