I enjoyed the game today. Quick, one touch passing and a lot of good attacking runs made. In 1st half I thought Dibling was superb. Barry had a fantastic game too. Merlin Rohl just plays where he's put. The lad is like lightning too. Hackney marshalled midfield well and Illy was his usual menacing best.

I just hope we play like that in 1st game. I hate letting teams constantly attack us and hope for counter attack. We certainly can play so I hope to see more like our 1st half performance

I didn't watch the game yet, but how was Dibling so bad last season, Moyes would not use him, and now he is "superb"? What has brought on this miraculous transformation, and will it last, or is he in for another season on the bench?

He's a kid. He's supposedly had a good pre-season and come back to prove a point. Good on him. Not machines, but he clearly had the ability from what I saw today.

He looks happier, BlueMike. Maybe he is more settled and determined to prove his doubters wrong.

Maybe, us signing 2 wingers this summer has given him a kick up his a*se.

Or maybe he wasn't given a chance with 10 mins at the end of games that were already over, and he played the majority of those minutes without 4 of our best players - JB, Gana, Ndiaye and Grealish.

Absolute bang on, BN.

Yes, totally agree, he is a kid and was not given much time to prove himself or much encouragement as far as I could see. Hopefully he will get better with more game time.

Maybe, just maybe as a young lad he struggled, was allowed time to settle and, given that time, would show what he is capable of. 19yrs old, new city, new team mates, big price tag. Would you all just go out there and flourish? Maybe our management team helped him out.

Rather than just crap on the management, have a look at the bigger picture.
Really hope he is settled and happy now.

I did read a report saying he is very close to his family and really missed them, which is understandable at 19, but there is a player in there, I just hope he's given the game time in his preferred position to prove it for us.

This post makes me laugh. He is 19 and coming to a massive club, yet as soon as he wasn't performing all the fans jumped on him saying he's crap, get rid. Doesn't surprise me, struggled. He's probably had people around him telling this is what the football fan is like, loves you one minute, hates you the next.

He's a year older and wiser and is ready for the challenge now, let's hope we get off his back and let him play.

Think we all forget the human aspect at times. Maybe Moyes has actually managed this lad well and now he's ready to go?

16 Aug 2026 10:27:29
Difference yesterday was he had a full back quick enough to get up and support him. Pulling players away and stopping defenders doubling up on the lad. Last season, in the short time he played, he was constantly faced with two defenders in front of him.
Get Munoz and Didling will get even better.
