He improves both the 1st eleven and the squad, so get him back. I don't think he will be wanting the wages that some of our fans seem to think he will command, unless we get him on loan for the season, but City will cover a lot of that like last season.
It's harsh to judge him on one game, especially since he's been out of action for a good while. Bring him back!

We don't need Jack, he slows play down too much.
We have young wingers who will take on full backs & get the ball into the box for..oh oh, that's where the money needs to go.

I think having Jack can change the dynamic. He can hold the ball and win free kicks if necessary if we're up against harder teams and go for set pieces. Also, if we need to retain possession and slow the game down from a winning position, he can do that.
He can also be direct like illy and drive through the middle, and he can pick a pass as this year we have more options going forward and potentially another striker. Furthermore, if you're a right back and have been getting turned ragged by Jack for 60 odd minutes, then George comes on etc or vice versa. Moyes is building a squad with depth and variety that is solid at the back, back on the Jack theme he is also strong defensively and can get free kicks back there to get us out and up the pitch.
Then there's the economics of the deal, shirt sales, people come to watch him, plus having Jack in the squad draws other quality players plus his networking ability to sell the club as it was with KDH and Pickford telling him to join us. Having Jack works for us, there is a bigger picture than just him holding the ball up when there's no other options and thinking he's slowing the game down.

A few points to consider.
Out injured for over half a season, should we expect to see him tear them up?
We were a better side with him last season.
Him and George are two very different options and can create issues for opposing teams when one subs the other.
Possible loan deal is better than a fee, as in last year of contract.
So I really do feel that this is still a good option for us. I'd like to see him back as he's a class player who's a free kick magnet. If there's two signings to make, I'd like it to be him and a striker who's a dead ball specialist, as he'll have plenty of chances during the season.

Agree with all of that, but a broken foot isn't like ligaments or muscle tears, broken bones mend stronger.

If JG comes back I'd be happy; if he doesn't I'd be happy. I don't want us paying silly wages, as we've been there, done that, and nearly went under. Also, he would not be a starter in every game for me, so would he accept that?

I think, when fit, he would start every game. Think how much George can learn from him, and regular changes keep them both fitter, no worries about playing on with niggling injuries when there's options.

Don't need Grealish, we need a goalscorer. Need a right back. Both Garner and Rohl would be wasted in that position. Get a proper right back ffs.
Pees me off when people say, oh he can play multiple positions. Just get someone who is really good at playing that one position.

Away Days. The game has changed, Rohl is as good as any RB I've seen, tall, fast, can tackle, can pass and, last of all, can score a goal. Is he wasted at RB with all the midfielders we have? Think hes a bonus at RB.

Utility players have been around since day dot, AB. Most squads have at least one player that can cover a few positions.
