3 weeks ago Moyes was God on this site and anyone wanted him replaced was crazy. Even Ed was getting it in the neck about Moyes the messiah. Too many people change their mind like the wind. I know that's football and fans are a funny bunch but it's a bit too much.

I don't want Moyes there next season he is too old he needs to retire now I have felt this way from the start of the season I don't care if he wins a few games he is still David Moyes. If we want to move forward we need to change.

{Ed025's Note - i think he has done a very good job to get us where we are now Dino but i just feel that this is as far as he can take us mate, he is very loyal to players who the rest of us think replacing and its very frustrating, we have the nucleus of a very good team i feel but the tactics are holding us back..

Agree2 Disagree0

I must say, when it's all said and done, we will look back and say, yes, he was the right man for the position we were in at the time, so fair play to him for that, but we want more and we deserve it. Let's push on now, we have all the tools.

26 Apr 2026 11:00:46
You could argue that point two ways. People were praising him because he’s led us into contention for a European spot, which was not expected (nothing to do with a grand history) , with what we all know is a limited squad. It is reasonable to expect that, with 4 or 5 signings, we would push on again.

There is risk with hiring someone new, and we’ve seen the downsides to regular changes of manager. Spurs, West Ham, Forest, etc. If you could get Iriola, I’d be tempted, but I wouldn’t sack Moyes for an unknown quantity.

With you on that, JB.

26 Apr 2026 11:49:41
Yes, you're right, it is risky, but no risk, no reward. I don't mind that Moyes came in and steadied the ship. I just don't want us going into next season with this same formation and tactics. You know Moyes won't change. He will get rid of Barry and Beto, and just look for someone similar, another 6ft 3 donkey, and play the same boring way.

And yes, we will win enough games to finish 10th, but that's it. Where is the Palace manager going? Glasner, is he not worth a shout? He has done well with Palace, especially given the fact they sold all their good players and never gave him any money to spend.

26 Apr 2026 11:57:11
Don't worry, Deano, he's looking to bring in young players like Stones and Wilson. Would you trust dithering Dave with 100 mil to spend?

26 Apr 2026 13:28:57
Stones no, but Wilson on a free would be a no brainer, then spend big on a striker.

26 Apr 2026 13:44:17
The problem is that the club had money to spend, and they wasted it on Dibling, Alcaraz, Aznou and Rohl (who I think we are now committed to paying for at season end) , who he will not play, and Barry, who he insists on playing, while we have been in need of a right-back and a striker for ever. It has been reported that Moyes has a big impact on who we recruit; if that is the case, who wants to trust him with an extensive transfer pot this transfer window?
It is not only his tactics that is a problem, but blaming a poor squad is also becoming his issue.

He has done a great job in stabilizing us and getting away from the periodic relegation issue, and will have our gratitude for that, but giving him an extended contract risks more of the same and is becoming too high a risk, and if he makes a mess of recruiting could set us back for years.
We need a new manager with more modern tactics who can bring a new support team capable of identifying better players and who is willing to give youth a chance. Yes I know this is also a risk, but maybe one that is worth taking.

That's absolute rubbish, Bleeds Blue. DM is not looking to bring young players at all; he says it time and time again; he wants players who can go straight into the team.

26 Apr 2026 15:29:28
He's young players at his disposal now who don't see any game time, he's useless with youngsters.

26 Apr 2026 15:43:20
You can't listen to DM's news conferences, BleedsBlue. He will not play any of the young lads in the first Team. He has said countless times they will go out on loan or wherever, and then, if they are good enough, will play some part. DM will be given a decent budget this window. Judge him after that.

26 Apr 2026 15:50:53
GB, I would not trust him with a decent budget. I know we have different perspectives for going forward, and you're a glass half full guy, but in the end we all want the same thing, success for this amazing club.

26 Apr 2026 16:17:21
Agree, mate, but just compare to where we were last year. DM has done an amazing job. I just happen to think he should at least get a couple of windows to clear out our few average players. We owe him that, mate. If we go downhill, then we change it. He has to be judged then, mate.

26 Apr 2026 16:56:28
You know what, mate, you're probably right in the grand scheme of things.
