18 M euros seems quite low, given what was reportedly being asked for him earlier in the window.

Unpopular opinion incoming;
I would be ok seeing Armstrong And Ndiaye go, if we got Grealish, Tete, Richarlinson, Yilmaz + Balogun.
And somehow got rid of Beto. Our midfield is stacked already.

Armstrong going nowhere. The rest wouldn't happen anyway. You would be losing two who are on fairly low wages, and bringing in 5 who would cripple the wage bill.

Not sure where you have been last couple of days, another planet perhaps? But under no circumstances should Armstrong go, and you are clearly very much in the minority, as the general fan base over the weekend showed.
Or are you saying everyone else is wrong and you are right?
I don't understand why narrow minded opinions can't understand the following:
1) That some players are potentially our future, to show true ambition we must keep hold of that talent and not splurge funds on tom, dick or harry because you have seen them play in the world cup or on You Tube!
2) Selling to a team like Forrest who finished below us in the league last year, who could be perceived a rival (currently) and potentially strengthening them to the detriment of EFC
3) That Armstrong's value could be 3 or 4 times in a few years, compared to what Forrest would pay now and that Forrest would benefit from that increased income, not us! If indeed we face the that scenario where we are forced to sell him in the future.
Selling him now, therefore is absolute utter madness!

BlueBlood, I understand your frustration, and you make some great points, but you must be able to see my point? It's only an opinon. Everyone is entitled to one. It doesn't mean I'm narrow minded. Even though living on Anglesey could be compared to another planet, they are seperated by a mere bridge, rather than an interplanetary rocket system.
I think some clubs get too sentimental over homegrown talent, I think we are one of them. Look at Balogun, for example, homegrown Arsenal talent, played 10 games in the senior squad, then was sold for around £35million. You must be right when you see the state of Arsenal and where they've been finishing in the league since.

I can see both sides.
However, Welshblue, can't really compare us and Arsenal. Their Academy produces vastly more first team ready players than ours. And they can shop at the top table for even better players.
Players like Armstrong come around all too rarely for Everton.

Bunkbeds, you are right, the clubs are not comparable. But, in my humble opinion, that does not mean we shouldn't follow the same system. That isn't me saying we should just 'copy the big clubs' in our approach. I'm just saying, if every time the club are trying to sell a really popular player, the fans go up in arms, we can't really complain that we're short a ST or a RB, if we are insisting they aren't aloud to make room in the squad.
Let's be honest, we were always going to make a loss on Beto, and I can't think of any players off the top of my head we could sell at this very moment for more than what we payed (barring Jarrad Branthwaite, Pickford, Dewsbury-Hall which would be a bigger disaster, or Ndiaye who is already going) .
Armstrong would have been the perfect sale with him being pure profit. I accept he could be one for the future, but he could also be one of those shining youngsters that goes on to achieve mediocrity (admittedly doesn't look likely at the moment) . We need certain positions improving immediately, if we want to compete well.

It's not sentimentality, the lad is a quality player and is only 19. Just think about that for a minute. 19 years old and already holding his own in the Premiership, and is only going to get stronger. It's these type of players that we should be building the team around, not selling for a quick profit.

I get it, Brass, but you can't say it hasn't been seen before. For example:
Jack Rodwell
Josh McEachran
Ravel Morrison
Nathaniel Chalobah
Jordan Ibe
Connor Wickham
Saido Berahino
Jack Butland.
Dan Gosling.
And that's just players who were supposed to become elite that never did. I haven't even taken into consideration that there is always the possibility of him becoming injury prone in a couple of years like so many youngsters do.
Maybe and possibly could be elite in 2 or 3 years isn't enough for me to protest his exit. It'd be different if he was already the main man, and carrying the team.

Rodwell and Tom Davies were well overhyped by our fan base. I personally never saw the hype that some fans did. Tom Davies couldn't trap a bag of cement, and if you want to be a top class CM in the PL, that should be one of the first ticks on the check list.
Some of those players you mentioned were also all hype, and some had problems off the field.
Armstrong is 19 years old, but already playing games in CM in the PL, and looking at home. He has a frame that he is going to grow into, and become more robust and suited to better handle the physicality of the league.
The lad has a great mindset about him, and generally picks the correct decisions on the pitch. He also seems capable of doing that off the pitch, like deciding not to go to Forest.
The only negative I can see about the lad is that he is a Kopite.
Another season in the league or two, and he will be worth over 100m. Plenty more, I would sell over him in the team.

I understand I'm in the minority here, but am willing to die on the hill so to speak. I just don't see how keeping/selling Harriason makes or breaks Everton for the years to come. He is superb, and a great lad. My mate loved him at Preston too. I just can't get my head around the fact that if he gave us the funds needed to ensure we secure the incomings that are touted.
It's something I would be happy with, as strengthening these positions seems way more important to me.
But. one thing you can't buy is loyalty. If the lad's blood has turned blue, and he is of the mentality that there is no other club for him, that's what would decide it for me. Keep.
