Sometimes people leave with 6 months left of their contract Gingerdan. Sometimes it will be because they want the change asap for football reasons, and sometimes it will be because the deal will compensate them such that it's worth their while (e. g. as a result of low transfer fee player gets signing on fee or higher wages for duration of contract) . It's a strange myth that players never leave shortly before contract is up.

If it gets anywhere near 50m you really have to take that, Gordon has great potential, but it’s just potential at present and that’s the kind of money you’d be expecting for the finished article. Some top players have gone for less than 50m this season (Sterling, Jesus) .

£50m! Take it. He is nowhere near that good. Got to strike whilst the iron is hot. His value could plummet this season (like DCL’s did) . Also that gives us money to reinvest (on a striker) . Are you telling me we cannot find a decent striker for £50m. A striker that’s the finished article. Surely we’d be a better team in that situation.

If we do sell Gordon to Chelsea, I don't want any of their cast offs in part exchange. We do not need anymore players who think they have made it, and don't want to leave it all out on the pitch.
Take the money then go for young and hungry players who want to progress not stagnate.

Ed25 with respect, me being a bit of a judas, we haven't seen Maupay yet, couldn't make Brightons Team must be a reason. I am told he is aggressive like Richarlison but without the tracking back. Two midfielders in Gueye (I hope he still has it) and Garner (hopefully) is good business but of absolute certainty we need another striker.
{Ed025's Note - maupay has got an edge to him BCT that’s for sure. Not a bad thing if you ask me. Yes I would have liked another striker but we still have DCL to come back yet mate..

I'll be honest I don't know much about Garner but I'm hearing a lot of good stuff about him as a player which can only be a good thing. ONANA, Gana and Garner sounds good ?. I would of liked Brereton Diaz but that's gone quiet now.

I like the ONANA signing but we haven't even replaced Richarlison yet and we need players in those positions asap in my opinion or it's going to be a very long hard season.

They started off well Toffeeboy and then all went bumpy bits up. WorcesterEFC, the Club told us they had a plan, my take: sold Richarlison (needed to) , didn't foresee a replacement (McNeil is just taking the Mick) , loaned out Simms (3 goals, 3 games) , didn't foresee sicknote getting injured again and look at us now. This can now be a good side but they are being let down.
