Hi Blues. I haven't been on here for quite a while, but like many of you, I do have serious concerns about us surviving in the Premier League this season! If plans are not already in motion to bring back the "Blue Flares greeting the Team Coach" for our remaining Home Games. then please, implement them asap. This Team needs all the support we can give them, but they also have to give the Fans something. anything. especially goals, winning goals, which produce 3 points and a Win. Just wish the Coaching Staff would throw the i-pads away, & instruct the players to go back to basics. Stop all this slow passing across the back four and into midfield before they then pass back to Pickford, who usually manages to kick the ball straight into touch? My personal opinion. don't know why we bought Beto, not worth £25/ 30m, for me he's very clumsy and awkward and Dyche should still start DCL every game, as the goals will come for Dom. sure they will and hopefully very soon. The New Stadium looks amazing, but all the "Noise" surrounding our great Club, doesn't look/ sound good at all. I've been a Blue now for 66years and never known a situation like this we have been in for the last 3/ 5 years. We don't even have any really good youngsters coming through, which we have been reknowned for in the past. Some of the youngsters coming from their Academy across the Park are absolutely brilliant and we look like we are going to have to sell our best Players. AGAIN. to help sort this mess out. Let's hope we are still in the Premier League whilst any new owners (whoever they may turn out to be) sort it out? Come On You Blues. PLEASE!

I can understand the frustrations, think we all feel that.
The slow passing has been an issue. As soon as we raise the tempo, we cause teams problems, and the crowd get up. Pickford’s kicking’s been decent this season, it’s who he’s kicking it to that’s the problem. Can’t ignore the quality of the youth coming through elsewhere, they’ve done an excellent job managing that. If we were dropping them into a team with 9 other top players, we might be ok, but we cannot afford to blood youngsters in our predicament.
What we do in the summer will be very interesting, we’ll know what league we’re in and what we can/ can’t spend. I believe we need a new manager and coaching team to take us forward.

So we have a 20/ 21 year old superstar in the making (in his own head) , who adores hearing the Fans chanting his name for the last few months and gives us the usual kissing the badge routine, before letting it be known that He doesn't want to sign a new contract offered by Everton? Chelsea are supposed to have offered £40m+. so they want to buy "Potential". because at this moment in time that's what Anthony Gordon has got. "Potential". Everton should push for at least £50m, the new Yanks at Chelsea are quite "free" with their money. For Me, Gordon has no end product and his pass choices leave a lot to be desired. in fact I think He is another Ross Barkley! They both Flatter to deceive and start games well but fade as . the match progresses, in fact they go missing. In todays Transfer Market, Gordon is worth maybe between £10/ 15m, so if Chelsea want to pay £50m, I say Take Their Hand Off. I would also see how much they might want for Gallagher and Broja, and if its £30m each, then just give them £10m and let Lampard get on with his plans to build a Team and hopefully move our Club forward. Unfortunately He can't actually implement some of his plan due to the injury to Ben Godfrey, wouldn't worry about Mina because he is a liability in every game he plays, all he does is get involved with the opposing Striker from the first whistle and usually gets booked. I would sell him to whoever might be interested asap. Really like the look of Onana and let's see if we get Billy Gilmour on loan from Chelsea, as it doesn't look like Idrissa Gueye is coming back. Drove by Bramley Moor today, our future New Home is really coming along. Take care Blues COYB.

I do think Gordon if not another Ross Barkley now, will certainly fade away if he goes to Chelsea, he'll big a small fish in a big pond, play bit parts and lose his momentum. But if he wants to go, let him, I don't buy this kissing the badge crap, I'd rather him come out publicly and say he wants to stay, if he doesn't, make him hand in a transfer request!

Here we go again, a player who most fans adore may be on his way and suddenly he can't pass, shoot or cross a ball and is just money grabbing. Every employer has staff who want to leave if they think they can better themselves and players are just that, employees, not the same as being a fan. Players have walked out of far bigger clubs than us for any number of reasons. Its happened to every club before and will continue to happen as long as there is football. Some people need to grow up.

3.) 16 Aug 2022 12:30:15
But ha can’t pass, shoot or cross a ball ?‍♂️.

4.) 16 Aug 2022 12:31:27
Barkley was/ is currently a better player than Gordon.

What I saw the other night against Arsenal over in America. we still have serious issues in defence dealing with crosses etc. I have stated on here before that I believe Pickford to be one of the best "shotstoppers" in the world. but he is a joke when it comes to claiming/ clearing crosses/ corners etc, he just doesn't command his area and that in turn does not instil confidence in the defenders in front of him. Southall, Martyn, Howard, they all just "cleaned anyone in their way" out, including their own defenders! Whilst Kenwright still has anything to do with Transfers, we will be left well behind other Clubs. I know Money is supposed to be very tight if not non-existent, but the media reports that we have agreed to the Buy Out Clause for Cornet at Burnley, supposedly agreed terms with the player, but then we tried to "get him from a catalogue"? Pay nothing now, have a look at him, then decide if we really do want him next season! Other Clubs are interested in him and won't mess about. if we truly want him, then get the bloody deal done and get a Blue Shirt on his back. Or haven't we even got £18m to spend? unless things change it looks like Broja is not happening and I don't think Billy Gilmour is any better than what we have. let alone us now being "offered" Ross Barkley. Everton always did their Business early and quietly back in the day. you woke up to news that we had signed a player. DONE! Not like all this bull nowadays. Conte at Spurs has signed Forster, Richarlison, Periscic, Lenglet and now Spence, all in about 2 weeks or so. Marco Silva at Fulham has signed a good few players after winning promotion, as Notts Forest. I have remained positive for most of my life supporting Everton, but I am gravely concerned about just where we are at present and what has happened to our once great Club over the last 20+ years. I am not in the best of health now, but I hope I'm still around to see the new Stadium completed and a decent Everton Team playing in it. I really do wish Frank Lampard and his Coaching Staff well, moving forward, but I do fear for Us this coming season, especially if don't make some new signings to boost this present squad. Best Wishes to All Evertonians for the coming season. COYB.

Don't disturb them, they are on holiday.

2.) 20 Jul 2022 09:05:49
Wouldn’t worry about what business Spurs have done - looks like previous windows we’ve had and never quite worked for us.

Quite hard integrating a lot of players into a new team.

Richarlison - we know how good he is but where does he fit in the spurs frontline?

Forster - steady back up keeper, similar to Begovic.

Peresic - can be decent, but unsure if cut out for the premier league and hasn’t played many minutes pre season.

Spence - we were previously linked with him, however I do remember there being concerns over his temperament.

Lenglet - another player we were linked with. Has missed numerous games through injury.

Admittedly Spurs have backed their manager but their not in the financial mess we are.

We’ll recruit but can’t imagine it being like the silly times when we threw cash at players the owner likes - our recruitment will be sensible on players we can afford and in positions we need.

However foolish to compare our recruitment to other teams.

Frank will take time to get Everton back on track this is going to take some time to sort out, He kept us up, now the hard work starts, I would be more than happy with mid table after what we went through this season.

4.) 21 Jul 2022 15:56:58
Agree with Dan about spurs business, I think lenglet is crap. They paid too much for richarlison and no idea where he fits in especially with the addition of peresic as well. Forster decent and Spence decent but unproven in the prem.

First of all let me state that I am one of those Evertonians who is never happy and probably over critical. but it comes from having been priveliged to watch Everton Teams from the past. from the Catterick and Kendall era's! But after watching that so called performance last night against Aston Villa. I'm completely at a loss to explain just what Everton actually do in Training all week? If any of the Coaching Staff reads this, can they please come on here and explain. The BT commentator and McManaman were beside themselves about the "excellant form Jordan Pickford was in", making a number of wonderful saves to keep Everton in the game when Villa were threatening to run away with it! It was Pickfords fault, along with Holgate and at times Ben Godfrey with all the passing across the penalty box, back and forth whilst being closed down by Villa players. it was a goal just waiting to happen, and sure enough, Holgate got caught in possession. But even after that happening, Pickford still insisted on playing the ball out to the defenders regardless of them being closed down constantly by Villa. so it's just as well he made a number of saves. The Villa Keeper and their defenders were playing the ball long over the top, turning our defence every time for Ollie Watkins to win the ball at will. thought he played really well. But Everton just didn't change how they were playing at at times it was embarassing! Richarlison needs to stop spittin his dummy out every time the ball doesn't run for him, he needs to roll his sleeves up and stop sulking. I have said before, that Pickford does not fill our defenders with confidence, nor Me, great shot-stopper, but very shaky on crosses and corners etc. Lack of crowds or not, the performances Everton have put in at Goodison this season have been nothing short of embarassing and some of these players are being paid £100,000 PER WEEK. no matter how badly they perform. Surely I'm not the only Blue who feels it's not good enough? Sorry if I've upset some of you, but I've supported Everton for over 60 years now, and we are so inconsistent. any form of success seems years away. COYB. (PLEASE) .

Haven't upset me mate. Your comments need reading out in the changing room prior to the next gane.

2.) 02 May 2021 07:23:45
Very good read but I feel your being very over critical of Pickford he was outstanding and has been for the last 8 games, I do agree with you over tactics I texted around just after the goal watch what we do passed to Godfrey then Holgate back to Pickford who hits it long and we lose the ball that comes from the manager as that's what they have been told to do. I was sitting there last night waiting for villa to grab a second you could see it coming all match all they had to do was hit it in the channels and they were free it happened all game and we didn't change anything up to counter act it for me it's another game that shows a lot of our players are bottle jobs and will not take us into Europe and for the 456th time on the run this is our biggest summer otherwise another season like this and Carlo will probably of had enough and then what do we do.

Once again Everton report back for Pre-season on Sunday I believe, and not one new signing through the door! We appear to be missing out on at least 3/ 4 players we have been very strongly linked with. Celik. Soares. Gabriel. Reguillion. Why? Unless it's only been the media linking these players with us, which has often happened with Everton and then our Managers let it be known, we were never interested in them at all. But now we are being linked with players who couldn't hold down regular first team places with the teams they play for now. Josh King at Bournemouth and Ntcham at Celtic? We now need a "New Paul Bracewell" and a "New Peter Reid". another powerful pacy Striker and a Goalkeeper who commands his area at corners and crosses. Everton Centre Backs don't have any confidence in Pickford, he flaps at everything. We have always had Keepers who command their area. Southall, Nigel Martyn, Tim Howard. I believe we will have problems trying to convince players to come to Everton because of the lack of European Competition football, so it will be down to Ancellotti's reputation. Wish I knew all the answers, but I do know that we have an awful lot of players who need moving on. we might have to just give some of them away, because we will struggle to get Fee's for them in the present economic climate. I am and always have been Everton through to my old bones, but I am bloody fed up about us being in this same sorry predicament every season, spending huge amounts of money on average players and having to settle for mid table. if we're lucky. Already casting very envious eyes at Chelsea, Arsenal, Wolves and obviously across the Park. What has happened to all of our Under23 side which Unsworth guided to 2 consecutive Titles But as always. COYB.

The majority of Prem clubs have not signed players.
Players that are likely to move will be weighing up their options as you’d expect. We’d all love some early business, but it was never likely. Hopefully in the next week we can get a couple out and a couple in.

2.) 16 Aug 2020 09:03:37
Well said JB.
It’s been a long season and a lot of the players having holidays I’d imagine in the next week things will pick up.
Also C.V. hasn’t helped not just with finances but travel for these wanted players going to see respective suitors.
Perpetual - have we missed out on any of these so called targets we’ve been linked with? The only one who has actually moved is Everton soares a left winger who we were probably never in for.

3.) 16 Aug 2020 11:26:56
There is no way of us from the outside putting our finger on the exact reason why no matter the Manager, Evertons pre-season transfer window follows the same disappointing pattern time after time. There has to be a common denominator but what is anyones guess.

4.) 16 Aug 2020 11:36:29
We are always going to struggle getting the top players when clubs like Arsenal are happy to pay 200k a week for a 32 year old, have a player on 320k a week sitting on the bench.
Then you have Man Utd and Chelsea who will pay any wage to get what they want.
We need to buy potential, because we can’t afford the finished article. That was what Brands was brought in for.

5.) 16 Aug 2020 17:06:57
Can someone explain to me why you expected a new first team through the door on the first day of pre-season please?
We have just completed last season due to a world-wide C.V., the players from all teams, regardless of what they may or may not earn, need a holiday or rest in the close season so this transfer window is going to be totally different from what's gone on before. It's open until October, if I remember right, so there is absolutely no panic right now. I'm sorry but there is absolutely no comparison between this pre-season and any other one because of this. See what happens, ignore the press linking us to every player on the planet and let CA and MB do their thing. I prefer it the old way, us fans not knowing who we've signed until the club announces it as fact, anything else is just speculation.
