Anyone heard of anything happening with transfers, I really am surprised we haven't got a right back in by now, we've only been searching for one for 2 years, surely they know who they want.

1

23 Jun 2026 17:30:01
Perhaps they're just saving on wages. I mean why pay a player huge amounts of money when he's on holiday. 🤷‍♂️

23 Jun 2026 10:49:41
Talk of Jay Stansfield from Brum. Could be a decent addition, good finisher, busy, could be a Jamie Vardy type without the baggage (wife) .

3

23 Jun 2026 08:42:41
Moyes as I have said before is morphing into Walter Smith, surrounding himself with old pros and not young talent as a safeguard he can trust older players but the young ones who can do something different get shunned or splinters in their arses with all the time spent on the bench. Time to part ways, I think.

2

23 Jun 2026 09:29:30
Who are the old pros he's surrounded himself with?

3

23 Jun 2026 14:08:10
Absolutely JB, who are these multitudes of old pros? We literally only have 2 'old pros' (Tarks and Keane) in the squad. 3 if Gueye signs an extension. Pretty everyone else is under 30.

1

23 Jun 2026 14:31:53
Average age of squad is 27. Replace Gana, Tarks, and Keane and it goes down to 13.

Anything to have a go, and just not bloody true.

2

23 Jun 2026 17:24:02
Hahah, quality, Brass!

Folarin Balogun. We are being linked with this guy, not really sure on this one. What say my fellow Evertonians?

1

22 Jun 2026 23:08:29
We have been linked previously tbf, before he made his move to Monaco and during, so it is not like we are reacting to his decent start to the WC.

Monaco would charge us ridiculous money for him though, and I think for what it would cost, we could get better options than him at a cheaper price.

I don't think it is the right move personally. He doesn't seem a Moyes type player either. I don't like saying that, because we shouldn't be buying players to suit him as he should already be gone but definitely will be by this time next year. However, just calling it as I see it.

2

23 Jun 2026 08:29:49
I remember him being in around the England U21s and that he had a good goal scoring season in his first year in France. Depending on the price, looks a solid option to me, and room to improve at only 23.

Guela Doue RB from Strasbourg £40 million being quoted, over to you BlueNose any info on the lad?

2

22 Jun 2026 15:49:19
We were offered the chance to sign him for under £16m in January and Moyes said no.

4

22 Jun 2026 15:54:33
Didn't know that, mate. Is he any good, do you know?

1

https://www.evertonrumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_ed025-1241569729.png avatar{Ed025's Note - not as good as his brother GB.. :)

1

22 Jun 2026 16:27:18
He's very highly rated, only seen him a handful of times and been very impressed.

As Ed says, not as good as his brother lol.

1

22 Jun 2026 18:35:57
I put him in a list of RBs that we should target last summer, GB.

Others in that list were Sanchez, Omar El Hilali, Wesley, Jon Aramburu and Bellanova.

It depends what we are after really and what you would prioritise from attack or defence or would you want a happy medium between the two.

Personally Doue sits near the top of the list of the above for me but as Swan said, we could have got this lad a hell of a lot cheaper this time last year after a decent season with Rennes and then Strasbourg.

I think 40m is a hell of a lot to pay for a RB mate and although we have a better war chest this summer, blasting 40m of it on a RB is questionable for me, especially when the likes of Sanchez are available for around 10m.

3

22 Jun 2026 19:10:44
Cheers Bn, mate, excellent info as always.

0

22 Jun 2026 23:05:11
Always welcome GB.

I would take Alec Cleland back at this rate, mate.

0

23 Jun 2026 10:06:40
So would Moyes.

0

22 Jun 2026 14:42:26
If Illien if determined to push for a move to unt, then we take Rashford and a big lump of cash.
I don't want him to leave, but I don't want someone who is not committed to the cause, I don't think his fall off towards the end of last season, was an attempt to force the issue, at least I hope not.

3

22 Jun 2026 15:38:52
Once again, it's only paper talk about him wanting a move, he was poor after Afcom. If he does want a move then we need to get the best price possible, mate.

1

22 Jun 2026 15:42:45
Believable that he'd want to leave to play CL football, and he certainly fits the profile of a player that the top Prem teams would be interested in. We hold the cards, he's under contract, and will only leave for big big money.

0

22 Jun 2026 15:55:57
True, mate, but an unhappy player usually gets his way.

0

22 Jun 2026 18:32:53
Hard to believe he wanted European football given the way he played the last half a dozen games.

3

22 Jun 2026 19:11:31
He was poor, Brass, that's for sure, mate.

0

23 Jun 2026 11:40:56
Wheels fell off most of that Senegal squad after they got stripped of the title tbf. We'll see what happens, but don't think Manure will stump up the cash.

21 Jun 2026 11:10:11
There is a saying, that says, (a fish rots from the head) . If our owners have a lack of ambition, then that filers down the hole club, manager, coaches, and players.
Yes, I am grateful their buy out probably saved us from relegation, administration, and perhaps even bankruptsy.
Wonderful, but they must be prepared to follow through, take the tough decisions, the first of which, has to be a manager with ambition, then the level of financial support must be put into players, not at the fag end of their career, or ones who might make it a few years time, but those who are able to hit the floor running, of course that does not come with guarantees of success, but anything less than that level of commitment, guarantees mid tables also also rans.

6

21 Jun 2026 10:44:01
Have we still not sorted the front of shirt sponsor yet? Get it sorted and get the kits released, everything takes so long.

2

21 Jun 2026 11:25:38
Everything takes longer if you want to have the elite level stability we have that makes all the other Premier League clubs jealous.

6

21 Jun 2026 16:16:16
CMC are front of shirt sponsors going forward. Stake's contract runs until the end of June, so I heard.

0

21 Jun 2026 16:26:38
I figured they'll have to wait until the current sponsor ends, hence the wait. New kits on 1st July?

1

21 Jun 2026 18:38:29
It's CMC Markets. So it's not that that's delaying it. But we're always one of the last to release the shirt which I just don't understand.

1

21 Jun 2026 23:11:21
We likely haven't released yet as the current sponsorship deal ends 30th June.
There are likely contract restrictions, which means launching a kit now would mean it cannot have the new sponsor, so we don't want to end up like Newcastle taking a hit on year one income.

0

22 Jun 2026 07:47:29
Perhaps we have secretly signed 3 or 4 players and are just waiting to reveal them in the new shirt.

1

22 Jun 2026 10:47:07
That's what I was trying to say, Southern Toffee, when they are able to release them, they will. Sam with signings, all these names being thrown about, we're probably not even interested in most of them. Hopefully in a couple of weeks, when some fresh faces are in the door, we can start looking forward to the new season.

2

22 Jun 2026 12:33:32
As usual, a sensible post, JB, mate. Once all the signings are done and dusted, hopefully the team will be in a far better place.

0

21 Jun 2026 07:58:04
Harry Wilson in talks apparently with us according to reports.

4

21 Jun 2026 08:44:39
As well as Leeds and maybe others.

0

21 Jun 2026 10:38:13
What a bunch of chatterboxes, all talk and no action. Thought we might have had one in by now.

1

21 Jun 2026 12:28:49
Of course there will be other clubs, would be worried if there weren't, we have one in already.

1

21 Jun 2026 13:46:16
If you mean the 16 year old, I'd not count him as one in. He's one in for the future (and the way Moyes brings them through, he'll not likely have a future with us) .

I grasp there is a World Cup, but Hackney and Wilson aren't at it, so you'd have hoped we could have sorted something by now.

0

21 Jun 2026 13:47:58
Is the one in the 16 year old from Scotland?

0

21 Jun 2026 21:47:37
It's Merlin Rohl.

1

22 Jun 2026 12:35:45
Correct JB, some so busy moaning they haven't a clue who has signed, mate.

2

22 Jun 2026 22:12:39
I am not counting Rohl as he was signed last summer with obligation to buy. I wouldn't even claim Grealish coming back would be a new signing.

I'd like to see us sign someone who didn't play for the club last year, who can improve us.

"I don't know if a club like Everton can make big huge strides, but we have seen how the likes of Bournemouth and Brentford are doing so there is no reason we all shouldn't have those ambitions to try and at least match those clubs and how they go about it."
This is a quote from our manager when asked about his aims for the club.

To try and at least match Bournemouth and Brentford?
Not exactly inspiring words for supporters to hear, and what does a club like Everton mean exactly?

7

https://www.evertonrumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_ed025-1241569729.png avatar{Ed025's Note - im not surprised at all Brass..

0

20 Jun 2026 12:06:01
Well, we have sure had that in the past, no reason not to expect it again, mate.

2

20 Jun 2026 12:35:57
Hardly inspiring words, GB. I would hope our aim would be to get back to the top where we belong. It will take time, of course, but aiming at Bournemouth and Brentford?

0

20 Jun 2026 12:56:24
Ok JB, read that post wrong. We need to aim above them, would be an achievement to get in the top eight, mate.

1

20 Jun 2026 13:03:55
Top 6 would be an achievement and a step in the right direction. The only way to break into the next level is regular European football.

1

20 Jun 2026 13:28:46
Top six is mighty high. Will have to be an excellent window for us, good few first teamers will have to be moved on, mate.

1

https://www.evertonrumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_ed025-1241569729.png avatar{Ed025's Note - just 4 little words GB...Nil Satis Nisi Optimum mate.. that does not translate to lets try and get 8th..

3

20 Jun 2026 13:44:37
We had a decent team in those days, mate. Shame this lot can't emulate them.

2

20 Jun 2026 15:41:04
What worries me is if that is the extent of the manager's ambition, is he reflecting the goal of the owners.
If so, we are in deep s*** and can forget " Nil Satis Nisi Optimum."

1

20 Jun 2026 16:25:32
Would have bitten your hand off if you offered me a move well away from relegation at the start of last season.

The run in was horrendous and largely down to the starting selection and tactics. Despite finishing well away from relegation, it feels like an opportunity missed to finish much higher.

3

20 Jun 2026 17:02:51
Them words don't fill me with much hope. I feel like he's not the man to take us forward.

2

https://www.evertonrumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_ed025-1241569729.png avatar{Ed025's Note - it stinks of stagnation to me Bretto..

0

20 Jun 2026 18:13:53
Just goes to show that he hasn't changed. Overstayed his welcome first time, and should never have been brought back and should only have been given a contract until the end of the season. Let's be honest, anyone barring Dyche would've kept us up.

Surely TFG can't be happy with this attitude, and how can they trust anyone with this lack of ambition with our transfer budget? How can we attract top talent or potential if this is the height of our manager's ambition? It really does feel like a kick in the teeth.

2

20 Jun 2026 18:50:22
Sorry, I was that annoyed typing my previous post that I meant to add when is Moyes going to realise that we are a massive club and act accordingly rather than saying that we should try to emulate 2 small clubs that have done well.
Sooner he's gone the better.

4

20 Jun 2026 21:06:22
Get him out ASAP. Dithering stagnated years ago.

0

20 Jun 2026 22:28:08
Ye agree ed feel like he basically asking for sack.

1

21 Jun 2026 07:58:56
What he is doing is setting the bar low so anything above halfway in the league looks good. What it really does is show his lack of ambition and what level of manager he is. Don't expect anything to change next season with this man in charge, and if you're happy with mid table then Moyes is your man.

1

21 Jun 2026 12:28:28
Why are we a huge club? Not won anything in 30+ years, not finished in Europe for 10+. You can't cling onto what happened under Kendall. Thanks to PSR, any club outside the so called big 6 cannot progress. Look at Villa. In the Champions League, they will likely have to sell their best player so they don't breach. It's all set up to stop any other team progressing.

It's not a lack of ambition from Moyes, it's reality, and trying to stop fans getting carried away and being unrealistic. I would love us to be at the top of the tree, but until PSR is removed, no one will ever break into the big 6 again. It's a closed shop, and bordering on disgrace and stopping competition. Clubs need to vote to remove it, and then maybe we can be ambitious.

0

https://www.evertonrumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_ed025-1241569729.png avatar{Ed025's Note - lets not blame PSR for playing out of form players and not giving youngsters a chance though Chris..and for poor tactics mate..

1

22 Jun 2026 12:35:33
I get that Ed but our youngsters don't look great! Harrison is the only one and maybe Graham but even Paul tait said he wasn't ready for first team football. I know everyone loves one of their own coming through but it's not the managers fault if scouting cannot identify decent potential.

I just think our problems go way beyond Moyes. He won a European trophy not long ago and continuously had West Ham in Europe. Look at them now!

0

https://www.evertonrumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_ed025-1241569729.png avatar{Ed025's Note - the thing for me Chris is that the lads dont even get a sniff mate, Aznou came on and i thought he done well myself but Moyes never played him again, Harrison also done well but only got bits and bobs after christmas and Graham despite ripping it up for the reserves never even made the bench, he would sooner play more seasoned guys like McNeil even though he is bloody awful and play players out of position or form than give the young players even a few minutes, you wont know how good they are until we give them a shot, some will say trust in Moyes...but i would not put him in charge of making a jelly myself...just my opinion..
