Apparently Moyes still would prefer Guela Doue as his number one right back choice. I think he would will have far better options than us unfortunately.

Maybe the strategist waits until late in the window and moves for him, when everyone else has already filled their right back slot, so there is no competition. πŸ™‚

20 Aug 2026 19:05:21
I would sooner sign a striker first myself.

2

20 Aug 2026 21:06:34
Even if that striker was Delap Guernsey?

0

20 Aug 2026 21:55:45
I'd be more than happy with Doue and Delap. Doue would be a huge signing if it came off. And, unlike most, I believe there's a player in Delap and we might be the perfect home for him. He had a stinker last year, but saying that Chelsea was always the wrong option for him.

Talk of Amine Gouri from Marseille. Exactly the kind of striker we need - a healthy bit of nastiness about him.

4

20 Aug 2026 14:22:41
Do these "journalists" really have a clue about what they are talking about? This came from the Football Talk site when discussing Everton wingers, namely Dibling and George.
"Dibling endured a disappointing campaign last term after joining from Southampton. On the other hand, George is still very young and needs time to develop".
They're both the same age!

20 Aug 2026 17:17:49
I do wonder at times, fact checking seems unimportant these days.
I am but a simple man, but if a journo is discussing a player's age, or other factual attribute, get it right.
When the reports came out about Mandela Keita and Papa Gueye, this one report has Keita discussed as a young improving 21 year old, he's 24 and Gueye was said to be vastly more experienced at 29.

he's 27. πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

Seems anyone can put a two bit half truth story together and pump it out there.

0

20 Aug 2026 18:38:58
None of them have any clue what they are going on about. I remember the rumour put out by someone on Twitter that was a load of BS to see if Sky would catch on. It didn't get to Sky, but was reported all over Twitter, the Daily Mail, News Now about 40 times, and a million YouTubers.

There's a video on YouTube about it. Dalot to West Ham.

That shows you there is nothing real out there. Just wait until Bobble, Ornstein or Fabrizio mention it. And even then Bobble is the only one I'd say is really reliable.

Whispers this morning of a deal in principle now being agreed with Chelsea for the loan of striker Liam Delap… also Blues still confident of signing Grealish whilst a strong interest from Moyes also remains in Rico Lewis.

3

20 Aug 2026 12:52:37
Good stuff, Elvis, keep it coming, mate, all three would be great.

2

20 Aug 2026 14:01:07
Throw enough names out there, and I'm sure some will stick.

1

20 Aug 2026 14:31:33
Get Richarlison in too, then we're sorted.

2

20 Aug 2026 15:06:07
Until we have someone signed up, I have given up hope with the rumours, we're linked with practically everyone who's a right back or forward! Iv also given up hope we'll get the players we need b4 the window closes!

1

20 Aug 2026 11:29:15
A few rumours going round that we have agreed to loan Delap from Chelsea. I think it's just rumours at the moment, but I would not be surprised. He just strikes me as exactly the type of striker Moyes likes.

Personally, given the choice I would be in the Nicholas Jackson camp, but I will support any players that pull on our famous blue jersey. I guess time will tell.

2

20 Aug 2026 12:02:08
Listen to the Angus Kinnear interview, mate, it's not only DM who gets a say on who comes in.

2

20 Aug 2026 12:18:33
He's absolutely a DM striker. One that can't find the back of the net.

In his first 11 years, he had 2 players that were decent strikers. Yakubu, who scored 14 or 15 goals in a season, and Louis Saha, who got 13.

No one scored above 11 goals, and there were seasons we didn't have anyone in double figures in the other 9 seasons.

Aside from that, we had to wait for him to leave for us to get a proper skriker in Lukaku. Fingers crossed!

2

20 Aug 2026 12:24:01
Yea, Moyes' track record for strikers is crap, he just loves giant centrebacks. He even started playing David Unsworth in midfield for a bit, squeezes them in anywhere.

1

20 Aug 2026 10:32:06
Morning all hope we are all good and gearing up for the match Saturday ed 025 hope you are well as well mate just wondering there's few rumours online saying we have agreed to sign delap on loan from Chelsea does yourself or any of the other eds have any info or know anything behind the scenes

0

20 Aug 2026 11:56:23
No worries mate, just spoke to a family member who is a Chelsea fan and, according to him, he's had the number 9 shirt taken from him for Joao Pedro and he's also been banished into the under 21s.

Whether that's true or not I'm not sure, he also knows a few people in the Chelsea camp and apparently Delap wants to join us. Just passing on what I have heard like.

https://www.evertonrumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_ed025-1241569729.png avatar{Ed025's Note - he is training away from the first team squad at the moment Andy and yes he has lost the No9 jersey to Pedro who was formerly No20 mate, it does look like he is surplus to requirement going by that..

0

20 Aug 2026 12:01:08
This was reported on SSN yesterday. No.9 has gone to Juao Pedro, Delap has the No.12 shirt.

0

20 Aug 2026 12:33:33
Hope we get him, especially if it's a loan move.

1

20 Aug 2026 09:43:32
Everton have contacted Arsenal regarding Gabriel Jesus.

Sorry but not for me.

4

20 Aug 2026 12:03:19
Who is for you, mate.

1

20 Aug 2026 12:23:18
Rather Jesus than Delap.

1

20 Aug 2026 12:45:08
Guess it's in de lap of the gods, CharlieBlue πŸ«£πŸ€£πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ.... I personally think Delap will flourish for us, but we will see. πŸ‘

2

20 Aug 2026 12:49:08
Jesus' attitude is completely wrong for the team. He's a petulant little s*** and we don't need him.

https://www.evertonrumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_ed025-1241569729.png avatar{Ed025's Note - well past his sell by date for me Brass..

1

20 Aug 2026 13:36:01
He's good on a cross! Or is that one too far?

2

20 Aug 2026 14:03:59
Would be nailed on Big C. πŸ‘

2

20 Aug 2026 14:48:48
He's quiet resurgent in & around Easter time is Jesus. 🫠

1

20 Aug 2026 15:09:44
We're all going straight to hell. 🀣🀣

1

20 Aug 2026 16:50:45
His attitude could end up being a huge headache! Like a thorn, you just can't dig out because your hands are tied!

0

20 Aug 2026 21:46:57
Just don't get him cro.. no, I can't do just in case lightening strikes.

I really don't want him or Delap. Pure waste of money. Neither of these improves us.

0

19 Aug 2026 18:32:45
So Kinnear has confirmed that the owners TFG see last season for us as an abject failure mostly due to the form of the team towards the latter half of the season and they're failure to qualify for Europe hmm I think if things go tits up for Moyes at the start of this season, he'll be gone by Christmas!

3

19 Aug 2026 19:36:54
He also said that injuries to key players JB and Jack were also to blame, as AFCON also caused problems. Kinnear actually praised DM.

7

19 Aug 2026 20:42:01
People can blame the manager (and I agree he is part to blame) , but the biggest reason we didn't qualify for Europe is their reluctance to move in the January market and specifically, getting a RB in.

This could have been done in Jan with ease.

5

19 Aug 2026 21:27:03
Agree πŸ’― with that, BlueNose.

Could Moyes do more with tactics in my eyes... Yes.
Could the players have done better... Yes.
But not having an actual right back is awful and must make life so hard.

Hopefully there is a little more trust that players can do more from the bench and we can impact games before the players are run ragged.

4

19 Aug 2026 22:14:36
Like Kinnear said though, it's a project, and there is a lot to look forward to.

I've been comparing us to the likes of Bournemouth, Sunderland, Coventry. But what was said in that interview makes sense, and gave me a different perspective. We could definitely do that with the finances we have right now, but we'd rather build sustainably, and do a proper job, so the success isn't short lived.

Many a team have made the mistake of throwing silly money at proven superstars who are getting towards the end of their career, good for a few seasons, but then what do you do when they leave for next to nothing? Can't re-invest, if you haven't made anything in the first place.

1

19 Aug 2026 23:34:42
The club are looking to progress and be successful in a sustainable way.
In year one we've seen a new stadium, improved financial standing and commercial partnerships, and investment in the squad.
This looks set to continue in the second year.
Don't believe all the hype, we're moving in the right direction.

6

20 Aug 2026 07:50:37
Of course are mate.

0

20 Aug 2026 08:19:17
I'm of the opinion that we need a better manager. But only replace him with someone who would do better. We all can't agree on this - it's football. But we all want better.
It's why we want new players in, why we needed a better stadium, why we change the recruitment team, why Kinnear calls out poor performance.

So if Moyes has to go by Christmas, so we can move up a gear, then why not? Oh, and I'd like entertaining football too.
But for now we have games to win, so I'm fully behind them all for the three points on Saturday.
COYB.

20 Aug 2026 12:20:40
ST, Welsh & JB, you are all spot on and I don't disagree with what you've said, but your points aren't mutually exclusive to the situation on the pitch.

We could and should have easily got a RB in the January window, and that would more than likely have gotten us the 5pts we needed to get into Europe.

Not only would that have given the fans something back for their unwavering support, but it would have made us more relevant across the footballing landscape. Not to mention, recruitment would have been easier, as money and European football are 2 huge factors for players when deciding which move to make these days.

20 Aug 2026 12:53:10
We had a right back sitting on the bench. It was Moyes' choice not to use him. And, it's also been shown in friendlies this season that Rohl could have done a better job there than Job, but Moyes didn't pick him either.

0

20 Aug 2026 16:53:59
BN, I agree with you, mate, but the issue I think was who? There isn't any point buying a RB if he doesn't improve the team.

Brassington, let's be honest, Patterson couldn't hold a flame to Job, even if he is a more natural RB, he would've cost us more defensively than he would've offered going forwards.

As for Rohl, maybe him being good at RB is a very recent discovery?

0

20 Aug 2026 18:24:45
Our last seven games, we drew three and lost four. Not sure how much more it would have cost us. As for Rohl, I would be pretty sure they knew what they were buying with him and what he could do.

Fact is, they didn't even try it, especially when Job was being roasted by pacey wingers, and we have a very quick player scratching his arse on the bench.

1

20 Aug 2026 19:12:21
Hard to argue with that, Brassington.

0

19 Aug 2026 12:33:01
Talk of Marty Cash now and figures of Β£20m
My God, why don’t we just pay the fee for Guela Doue and be sorted longer term?

6

19 Aug 2026 13:00:02
Good player, walks into our first team, Villa desperately short though, so can't see this one happening.

3

19 Aug 2026 14:14:45
Apparently Wan Bissaka joining Villa.

0

19 Aug 2026 19:18:42
Interesting, I think Cash is a better player than WB.

1

https://www.evertonrumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_ed025-1241569729.png avatar{Ed025's Note - i think he is better going forward Brass but not as good a defender..

0

20 Aug 2026 12:56:03
Ed i'm bored with this defend at all costs attitude. Get Aznou and Ndiaye on the left and a wing back and either George or Dibling on the right and go at teams, especially when playing at home.
I do not want to sit through another season of hoofball mate.

2

https://www.evertonrumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_ed025-1241569729.png avatar{Ed025's Note - nor me Brass, but i believe we have a better squad this season and with possibly more to come there will be no excuses mate, lets just wait and see how things pan out before we decide how good or bad things are i say..

0

20 Aug 2026 14:07:25
Agree Ed but this does seem like something we say at the beginning of every season. Groundhog day here I come.

18 Aug 2026 14:42:14
Reading the Munoz deal will be done this week.

5

18 Aug 2026 15:02:29
Everton holding 'serious' Daniel Munoz talks - 'It must be done this week..' looks like you must be right, Pal.

4

18 Aug 2026 15:19:20
Hope so. He seems to be a very good player. Need to get those done.

4

18 Aug 2026 16:56:47
Yeah, shame it wasn't done sooner, but perhaps the fact we are playing Palace this weekend was a factor. He's a quality, Premier League proven right back. Would be a top signing.

2

18 Aug 2026 18:03:32
Even though we are playing Palace, why would they risk playing him against us in case of injury, and, knowing Moysey, he wouldn't play him 1st game anyway.

2

18 Aug 2026 19:20:05
Maybe not even the 1st season, Moggsie.

1

18 Aug 2026 19:32:47
I think we are trying to save a few quid and let them bring him up to us when they come for the season opener. 😳

5

18 Aug 2026 20:09:48
If they have signed a replacement, he wouldn't play anyway.

0

18 Aug 2026 21:34:18
I think it would be more about not wanting him playing for us against them than him playing for them.
