Balogun deal is off according to Ornstein.

Folarin Balogun transfer from Monaco to Everton off. Deal for 25yo #ASMonaco striker renegotiated after issues during medical & deal sheet submitted; but USA international decided not to proceed + left #EFC training ground without signing.



This is exactly what we feared would happen. Now it looks like we are up the proverbial creek without a paddle. You can't make this up.

All window to get ship shape, but last minute shenanigans has the potential to ruin yet another season. If they knew we needed to sell to get some spends together, then Ndiaye, Patterson, Tim and Beto etc al should have been put up for sale in July. Then this Balogan balls up could have been weeks ago, leaving us time to find alternatives.
Nothing for it but to promote some U21 strikers. Moyes has nothing to lose. He didn't receive the backing from those above him.
Absolutely bonkers. Btw, the real version of this message is not for the faint hearted. 🤬

Well that's it, window closed. So we got rid of five and as far as I know got in Grealish. Can only wait and see if we have managed to get in deal sheets for any other players including Maitland-Niles.


It's too soon to say if this has been a disastrous window but it is getting close. Even if we sign Balogun it could be months before his ankle heals.

I don't think under 21s count in the 25 squad roster limit. I made it 23 senior players before the window.

Sounds like we will get a RB and striker, but we are weaker at LB and our new striker might have an ankle issue.

Unless there are a few surprise loans, it's a disappointing ending to the window for me.

Didn't Leeds get Bars in a loan to buy with less than a million now and £5million end of season? He better be rubbish or we have missed out on a solution.

There are a few wingers we have been linked with also go for under £20m.
