He was never banned from the ground - he chose to stay away.
Not sure why so much is being made of him being back - he chose to stay away, further painting fans in a bad light and now he’s chosen to come back - so what?
Whilst a great player, he tarnished his own reputation with his own actions.

Bloody hell chill out Gingerdan we are only discussing what a great player he was, wish we had a few of him these days in our Team.

GB I’m entitled to my opinion - wasn’t knocking him as a player was wondering why so much fuss was being made about someone who chose to stay away then coming back was about?
I even commented he was a great player - shame he tarnished his reputation with his actions.
Think you need to chill out GB.

He is my all time football hero as a player and who I used to be in the playground so I can forgive but not forget everything he did and said but like I posted A LEGEND OF A PLAYER.

Regardless of the reasons for why he has felt the need to stay away, there is no harm in anyone pointing out that it was nice to see him back at Goodison.
If people want to hold grudges then that is their prerogative, but for everything he gave on the pitch during his Everton career, he deserves to say his goodbyes to the Old Lady as much as any of us.

I think he tried to help but it backfired. From what I’ve picked up from the Nev interview the other month it was him who stopped them giving Lampard a five year deal.
I think his (and others) hands were tied by the imbecile in charge.
