Everton are preparing a bid to sign Manchester United forward Ethan Wheatley, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Well this lad is a youngster. Some Moyes definitely would not play him.

It's a joke, mate, isn't it, tbh? It's starting to annoy me how this club looks at transfer recruitments. They need to be held accountable, and serious questions need to be asked. Wish we stop pissing around and just go out and proply scout.

It's no good buying these lads for the under 21s. Does the club, or whoever is in charge of transfer recruitment, know that we actually need additions for the 1st team.

01 Aug 2026 16:55:29
What worries me is that his record is abysmal when playing in League 1 and League 2 when out on loan. Wtf makes them think he will cut it in the Premiership. If this is top level recruitment, God help us.

01 Aug 2026 18:04:04
We need a striker that is clinical, because we don't create much. I don't understand how all other teams are improving, yet we seem to be going sidewards.

01 Aug 2026 08:17:18
Sacha Boey (born 13 September 2000) is a French professional footballer who plays as a right-back and wing-back for Bundesliga club Bayern Munich. This guy is supposed to be an option. Apparently the Bayern Munich sporting director has stated he is surplus to requirements, so another on to keep an eye on, as he should cost a bit less if they want to off load him.

Young French player, 25 years old, probably decent if Bayern Munich went for him, so maybe one to watch.

Good player, but it looks like Moyse has his heart on the chap from Celtic who has spent most of the season out with hamstring issues. Still, at least he's a rb.

01 Aug 2026 12:01:11
Last time I saw Alistair Johnson play he was getting roasted by an 18 year old Mikey Moore, who Tottenham loaned to Rangers for a year, cause he needed experience. He's defo not the answer to our rightback problems.

01 Aug 2026 14:09:26
To my mind this one, Alistair Johnson, is being pursued for two reasons. Probably the most important: price, probably a third of the price of our first choice options in that position; and two, he is the age that Moyes prefers. Older players. He does not seem like a manager that thrives coaching youngsters or younger players who need experience and patience; he is all about the here and now. Now, I know a manager needs to keep his win ratio up, but Moyes is not the kinda manager you can put in charge of a project, as those managers thrive when dealing with youngsters and finding potential gems that they can integrate into a cohesive team structure.

Moyes is more pragmatic. I tend to play x system with players age 26 and over, not a flexible manager, which is why I can see him and Everton, as a consequence, struggling in the league this season. By the time the January transfer window ? opens, I hope to God I am wrong though.

01 Aug 2026 16:01:35
Didn't we already take a full back deemed surplus from Bayern? Didn't play that one, so wouldn't want a repeat in the other full back position.

02 Aug 2026 00:24:08
How old do you have to be to be classed as old? For me, at least, 27 isn't old at all.

01 Aug 2026 07:22:54
Supposed to have bid £35 million for Yilmaz, a winger.

01 Aug 2026 08:11:30
This lad has serious pace, can beat a man and can cross a ball. Think he would very quickly become a crowd favourite, and, if Ndiaye did go, would be more than just an adequate replacement. Looked very good in the World Cup.

01 Aug 2026 10:06:59
Is he too fast for us?

01 Aug 2026 10:37:29
My god, Blue_dev, your positivity is really inspiring. You're definitely not a glass half empty fella.

01 Aug 2026 10:37:35
Sounds great, Brass', but can he pass backwards?

01 Aug 2026 12:12:11
Take a joke, Regie boy. I'm not all miserable, just when it comes to this club. Should come with a health warning.

01 Aug 2026 16:05:44
Means he'll be quick to get back into a defensive position..

01 Aug 2026 07:13:18
Reports this morning that we’ve had a team
in Turkey negotiating a deal for Yilmaz from Galatasaray. This lad can play.

{Ed025's Note - very good player imo JB..

01 Aug 2026 07:42:15
Now reading they want £53 million.

01 Aug 2026 11:03:40
Just pay it!

31 Jul 2026 18:40:07
Bologna's Jonathan Rowe + Arsenal's Ethan Nwaneri being reported, both wingers, Ndiaye replacements possibly. Apparently contact has been made for both. Anything else on this?

{Ed025's Note - just white noise at the moment Welsh..

Agree0 Disagree2

31 Jul 2026 19:10:57
Probably after both, but will end up with S**** Macneil.

31 Jul 2026 18:15:11
As we get nearer the start of the season with a very underwhelming lack of caring communication from the owners about plans for the future of our club.. I cannot help wondering if TFG are reluctant to allow Moyse to spend much. financial restrictions notwithstanding.. simply because of the large total sum spent on Barry, Aznou and Dibling. and them wondering one season later on the back of 2 of them hardly featuring and one clearly not (yet?) at the standard necessary for a number 9.. If they can trust Moyse or Kinnear or whoever is scouting and recommending purchases. There surely must have been a review of transfer activity over the last year and questions asked like..

Did anyone seriously look at Barry's first touch, something basic for a good centre forward.. If Moyse likes taller full backs, why buy Aznou and what has he done wrong to hardly merit a game when the current left back is so limited in ball distribution and creativity?. Was the manager convinced that Tyler would in time make it as a top player? Just musing on things. I think Moyse has to convince us that he is tactically a modern coach with creative ideas and some flexibility in approach.. or Christmastime might not be such a happy one for him.even with a decent pay off.

{Ed025's Note - that would be like Christmas for all of us Oscar..

31 Jul 2026 17:48:25
Personally I can only see one right back, probably Johnson from Celtic, and possibly Liam Delap up front. I hope I am wrong as I would consider that a very miserable transfer window, but it looking like we are trying to stretch our pennies. What say my fellow Evertonians.

{Ed025's Note - very unerwhelming TB..

Agree1 Disagree2

31 Jul 2026 18:11:26
Still think we will get Jack and 2 loans after these.

31 Jul 2026 18:56:52
Far from over. Plenty of business still to be done.

31 Jul 2026 23:36:04
Would be nice to get it done well before the start of the season, JB, but we know that's not how we operate.

Maybe we should just do a load of loan to buy deals, so it looks like we've made loads of signings next summer transfer window.

31 Jul 2026 16:10:03
Looks like we are getting the Celtic rightback then.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jul 2026 19:31:26
"Everton have been in contact," explained O'Neill. "I'm not sure whether there's been a bid in there for that one, but they've been in contact saying that there would be.
"In fairness, David Moyes did call me last week to say there would be contact."

31 Jul 2026 14:17:50
Chelsea have been found out again for breach of agents fees etc etc.

10 million fine and a two window registration ban.

Agree1 Disagree0

31 Jul 2026 15:14:15
Chelsea fan here.

Just to give you some insight, our club have not been found out again. It's for the same offence that we were fined by both EUFA and the Premier League.

I should also point out that the offences happened during the Roman era and were picked up by the new owners' lawyers when they were looking into the books prior to the completion of the sale.

Money was also held back from the sale to cover any fines that came our way.

Immediately, the new owners self-reported the issue to all authorities, and, in all probability, it would never have been picked up by the authorities.

Just wanted to give you an insight as to how this all came about.

{Ed025's Note - thanks Bill..

31 Jul 2026 15:23:08
Everton have been ordered to pay £40m in compensation to Burnley, after having points deduction previously. This happened under previous owners. Does this seem fair?

{Ed025's Note - its a great point TBT..

31 Jul 2026 15:42:54
To be honest, there is a lot that is not fair, it's all about making money and who can get what.

31 Jul 2026 16:16:45
Keep the 'big teams' happy and the rest don't matter.

{Ed025's Note - very much so JB..

31 Jul 2026 16:45:52
JBtoffee,

Without all the different size clubs within our leagues, there would not be any so called big clubs, therefore, all clubs need to be looked after in the same way.

When rules are broken, there is a price to pay as we have found out.

31 Jul 2026 17:00:03
But the price to pay is not the price to pay for all teams, is it? They don't think twice about docking us points, which means we lost money too, so a double punishment.

A suspended punishment is no punishment at all. Anyway, rant over! Let's hope we sign a few and improve season on season so we can show everyone what a 'big team' really is.

31 Jul 2026 17:56:41
Welcome Bill, and thanks for your insight.

In my opinion, we were accused of breaking the rules, were found guilty, and dealt with very swiftly. There was an argument that we fought the decision, and this was taken into account when coming up with a punishment, despite complying with external sources to the club.

I feel that Chelsea broke the rules, lied about it, and tried to brush it under the carpet. Like you said, it may never have been picked up. The new owners came in, and it has all surfaced now, and Chelsea have continued to break rules under UEFA (correct me if I'm wrong) with finances.

The treatment of Chelsea has been very lenient, as they just keep getting fines and registering restrictions. I still don't understand why there has not been a points deduction.

Forest were dealt with swiftly. City, well, they have been the most difficult, completely changed the face of football through cheating, and are not being treated the same.

Do you think Chelsea should continue to be given financial penalties, which the committee looking into Everton said would be worthless given we were a multi-billion business?

31 Jul 2026 20:11:08
A fairer punishment would be to suspend the fine and impose the registration ban. But no, the FA need the fine money.
If you want to really know what unfair is, try putting the same panel overseeing the Burnley situation that did the original 10 point deduction that was found to be excessively harsh, therefore reducing it.

Let me repeat this because it's so unbelievable - The Premier League put the same panel on the Burnley case that got it wrong the first time!
I have never seen such brazen incompetence!

{Ed025's Note - it beggars belief Ace..

31 Jul 2026 13:29:21
So the price tag for Delap is £40 million, lot of cash that.

{Ed025's Note - too much imo GB..

Agree0 Disagree3

31 Jul 2026 14:59:12
Yikes, way too much that by about 35mill.

31 Jul 2026 15:58:43
Delap is worth no more than 30m.

{Ed025's Note - i would lose the 0 myself Uran..

31 Jul 2026 15:58:44
Well, we are stuck with mediocre players unfortunately. The real good established ones will not come and cost too much. We don't seem to have a recruiting team capable of identifying good young players who will become great, and so we will either have to stay with B&B or replace one of them with a similar ("If maybe a little better") player like Delap if they bring the price down to a reasonable amount.

{Ed025's Note - i suspect you could be right Mike..

31 Jul 2026 16:04:24
It's 39 million, too much on what happened last season, but I'd have him at Everton over Beto. I think if he had the same chances as Beto did he'd score more, as we all know it's all ifs and buts.

{Ed025's Note - that would be sideways move rather than a forward one Pasty..

31 Jul 2026 16:44:02
So what would I, mate, but I hope we can get him on a loan somehow.

31 Jul 2026 21:09:32
If Chelsea want 40mill for Delap, how much do they want for Jackson, better player, and much better in front of goal?
