Don't know if this has legs, but hear we have offered Patterson in a deal for w/ham right back, seems to make sense, but since when have our recruitment team been that smart.

And one of the best.

08 Jun 2026 07:39:26
Any news on Hackney, or have we learnt nothing and will mess about until someone else comes in and pays the £5m extra they are asking for.

2

08 Jun 2026 10:11:20
We are getting about 5mill from the Gordon sell on, so that would cover a price gap between us and Middsbough!

1

08 Jun 2026 10:37:13
We are starting to sound desperate aren't we?

I'm putting that down to the disappointment of our recruitment team in recent years. Anyone know if it's the same charlatans from before TFG took over or are we operating with a completely different team these days?

If we base it on last year, we offloaded some past it players on high wages, extended some contracts, made mixed signings: one ludicrous teenager signing who hasn't played, one unknown teenager who hasn't played, one decent player who was utilised late in the campaign due to injuries, a back up goalie, one out of favour but decent player (think that was a gift horse signing) , decent experienced midfielder and a crap young striker.

I expect us to get Hackney but be held to ransom by Boro to get more for their best player.
Probably land Stones on a free but high wages.
Loan Grealish again.
Get rid of McNeil.
Sign a RW.
Sign a RB.
Not sign a striker because Moyes doesn't find decent strikers.

I hope it's better than that to be honest.

I'm desperate and the window isn't even open yet. Just wish we would get them in early, get a good, hard, full preseason with most of the players so we are at it from the off. I thought we had a new team for scouting and transfers, yet the same names are mentioned. We more than likely don't know half the names we are after, I just look at Roma, and they seem to be after and attract big names.

Brighton are already at it. Bournemouth were so organised they had a manager in place before the old one was out the door. Just want us to be active.
Hope we don't dither the end up with left overs.

08 Jun 2026 11:26:58
I just hope we don't throw all our eggs into one basket, we need to have many options in every position, then if we miss out on the number 1 we get number 2, not wait until it's too late then panic and grab anyone who's available, we should have a list of countless players who we can realistically get, spoken to their agents and got a yes he might be interested or no he's not interested.

If, when the window opens, it takes weeks to get one bloody transfer done then the board and everyone else should be sacked.

1

08 Jun 2026 12:19:14
Transfer window's not even open yet. Players are all either at the World Cup or on holiday. Bit early to start judging the window?

2

08 Jun 2026 12:21:06
We always leave the first team to the last. Youth teams and Women's team are active first.

08 Jun 2026 13:40:44
I won't be particularly fussed if we miss out on Hackney at the reported fee. Apparently Boro are wanting closer to £30m than 20. For a lad that has a year left on his contract and hasn't posted those great numbers in the Championship, I think that is ridiculous - even in today's market.

Imran Louza posted better numbers than him, and, to me, looks a better footballer at half the price, albeit 3 years his senior.

0

08 Jun 2026 14:04:15
We are apparently the club he wants to sign for so it was always going to be a low ball offer to begin with, especially with a year left on his deal. It's expected that we will up our offer and get this deal done.

0

08 Jun 2026 14:42:00
Imran Louza is another great prospect in the Championship, good with his feet to beat a man.
Good vision and passing accuracy, likes to hit a shot from distance as well, which we have often been shy about doing.
Like most Championship players, the step up could be huge and may impact his productivity.

And, given his age, there would not be any future resale value, which I think is why the recruitment team is looking at the likes of Hackney.

08 Jun 2026 16:20:08
Need to make our minds up on George too. I would keep him personally, get rid of Dwight. I think we only have a couple more weeks before it goes to auction and anyone can sign him. Be typical Everton that, mess about and then end up paying more.

Any news on JB Ed mate

Armstrong on loan could be part of the deal for Hackney reading this morning.

3

07 Jun 2026 11:03:27
While I can understand we negotiate every deal within an inch of its life, I think we just need to start getting deals done early, or like every year we will be feeding off scraps. Would be good to get most of the team sorted by preseason.

1

07 Jun 2026 11:22:44
Brighton have just signed a hot prospect from
AIK for 21 million, roughly seems to be the going rate. Get the deal done, move on to the next!

2

07 Jun 2026 11:40:45
Agree, JB, but we know different, mate.

2

07 Jun 2026 13:39:35
Is Hackney better than Armstrong. 🤷‍♂️

2

07 Jun 2026 21:15:34
Hackney and Armstrong are different types of midfielder, and would be deployed in different ways.
Hackney is more a deep-lying playmaker, good passing and intelligence to unlock a defence, and good dribbling skills, though not tested in the Premier League.
In a pair with James Garner, I suspect Garner would be doing more of the breakup, which he has done well this season.

And Hackney loves to pick out a defence-splitting through ball, which Beto loved running onto when Garner has hit them.

Armstrong is more physical and could develop into that defensive shield who sits in front of the centre backs, and be a box-to-box type.
I think another loan would help him develop those skills.

That's my take on it.

0

07 Jun 2026 21:50:53
Agree ST, mate.

0

08 Jun 2026 10:31:31
Armstrong doesn't need loaning out, he needs to be playing for us. Just how many years do you think you need to loan out a player till he's ready? Maybe till they're 29?

0

08 Jun 2026 11:29:09
He needs to be loaned out till the manager thinks he's ready, simple as that.

2

08 Jun 2026 12:24:50
That says it all, Bluepasty, mate, exactly.

0

05 Jun 2026 18:20:41
Grealish is re-signing for us and a transfer for Hayden Hackney has now officially begun with talks started between us & Boro.

6

05 Jun 2026 19:45:08
And been refused already.

2

05 Jun 2026 20:42:51
Was reading we offered £10 million.

1

06 Jun 2026 12:55:03
A lot of reports say we offered £7m to £8m, Boro wants around £20m, as they say he has improved on last season.
Even at £20m, it's still a good deal, but I guess they are testing Boro with just a year left.

3

06 Jun 2026 13:40:56
Forest or Palace will nip in and sign him while we dither. If we want him, just agree a fee and sign the lad. I get the haggling, it's all part of it, but £20 mill is cheap these days.

Yes, he has 1 year left. We will lose him to another team, then all be on here saying why didn't we sign him. Christ, we paid £27 million for Barry.

4

06 Jun 2026 15:19:43
As long as it isn't a Dibling £40m and he never plays..

If it's £20m they want, offer them £15m with add ons to take it over £20m. Get it done and move onto the next one. Let's not play silly beggars and mess this up.

4

06 Jun 2026 18:11:01
Agree, Ron, if we really want him, we have to start paying what other clubs would stump up. I think the Championship has a fair few players who could make us a better team. Semenyo, Bowen, Robertson all stepped up with no problems in the past.

2

07 Jun 2026 02:47:21
If we really did offer 10M for him, then it would indicate that Moyes is not keen and believes that is what he is worth. Still not sure who is running the show.

0

08 Jun 2026 10:27:27
BlueMike, I think we should all have expected a low offer to start with mate, the lad has 1 year left on his contract and has, allegedly, made it clear he wants to move to us. The two clubs will negotiate a deal, possibly 15m with a few add ons and we will get this transfer over the line very soon. It's all a game of poker at the minute, bluff and counter bluff until a deal is reached.

05 Jun 2026 08:26:01
Any news on Grealish? I seen a rumour for 23mil. I for one would hope we get him in first. What a player.

Anyone heard anything solid?

6

05 Jun 2026 11:04:35
Only that he's still training at Finch Farm, which is a good sign.

1

05 Jun 2026 11:43:13
He was in Ibiza in a club with my mate last night, who's a red. He asked him where he's playing next season, and he said he can't say much, but looking more likely than not that he's staying at Everton.

0

05 Jun 2026 12:11:01
Hope that's true. He was really missed the last few games, good player.

3

05 Jun 2026 15:13:04
Really hope we sign him, his ball retention, skill, football game management are top draw, I'd be happy with him playing LW, 8 or 10.

2

06 Jun 2026 20:10:54
I read he's not interested in going back to City with the new manager, and it's another 12 month loan, then a free or £25 m transfer as they've already had 12m loan fee which was his wages effectively last season.

Reading that Gana and Tim could be leaving Everton in this window.

2

04 Jun 2026 20:55:19
Gana, I can understand. Tim is another story. We will see. I don't normally take much notice of speculation, either those leaving or those coming in. Normally it is a different bunch that we end up either way. Who knows what will happen, who expected Mykolenko to get an extended three year contract?
We can only hope that we get in a decent right-back and left-back and striker and that Moyes doesn't leave them on the bench.

I hope that we will see more of Armstrong, Aznou, Alcaraz, George, and Dibling if they stay. They should be well bedded in by next season.

04 Jun 2026 21:00:59
There is no prem footie, and nothing can happen until July with window and contracts, so bored hacks are just stirring the pot for likes.

0

04 Jun 2026 22:31:30
Actually transfer window opens June 15th.

1

05 Jun 2026 10:03:29
Tim is still only a young player and could yet develop into a very good defensive midfielder. His passing is probably his biggest weakness right now, you would think the coaches could work on that.

1

05 Jun 2026 12:23:35
Tim looked like he was actually trusted by Moyes to do a job, which is rare for someone under 23.. Can only see 1 of them going at max and more likely they both stay.

1

04 Jun 2026 11:49:47
Bardghji from Barcelona being linked, left footed right winger. What do you know about this one Blue Nose mate?

1

04 Jun 2026 13:12:38
I can see him ending up at Leeds GB.

A lot of hype around him a few years back after he broke into the Copenhagen team at just 16, becoming their youngest ever player. He did go on to score the very next game, which naturally earned rave reviews.

I remember watching them in Europe where he was playing with Rasum Hojlund and our very own Manc slayer - Bryan Oviedo. However, he was still very raw then.

I watched them again a couple of years later against United, as we had a strong interest in Elyounoussi (ex-Saints player) . Elyounoussi actually played very well and scored, but Bardghji certainly caught the eye and all the attention after scoring the winner in a 4-3 goal fest.

He then got incredibly unlucky and did his ACL. He did recover well though and came back into the 1st team like he hadn't been away. So much so that Barca decided to bring him in. I am not sure if they brought him in because they thought he would make a big impact on the 1st team, or whether it fit in with their plans at the time because of their financial issues and also realising that he would represent a low risk signing that would more than likely represent an eventual profit.

He has been used at Barca but not huge amounts. In his defence, he is behind arguably the best winger in world football.

In terms of him as a player.

Left-footed attacking winger who primarily operates from the right flank.

Like most modern wingers now, he looks to cut inside and get shots away or feed players through on goal.

His diminutive frame and low-centre of gravity allow him to excel with close control, quick feet and ability to beat defenders in one-on-one situations.

He is comfortable carrying the ball at speed and receiving possession in tight spaces, capable of creating chances for teammates as well as finishing moves himself - so a bit of an all-rounder in that regard.

He is still only 20 though, mate, and I doubt this and his physical presence would make him a Moyes signing.

04 Jun 2026 13:33:47
Good stuff, mate, Brian Oviedo, that's a blast from the past, mate.

0

04 Jun 2026 14:26:40
Would take him over Mykolenko now mate hahah!

1

04 Jun 2026 14:40:16
So would I. He sounds very good, mate.

1

04 Jun 2026 15:49:58
If he doesn't get back and defend, then Moyes won't want him.

0

04 Jun 2026 16:23:45
Always the negative, mate.

1

04 Jun 2026 18:03:23
Tell me it's not true GB. 🤷‍♂️

6

05 Jun 2026 10:01:47
Defending starts from the front players, any winger we buy has to be able to track back. We can't afford to carry any more players, it's already like we start with 10 players on the pitch when playing either of our forwards.

0

04 Jun 2026 00:04:23
Seen earlier that apparently we have a golden opportunity to potentially sign Dusan Vlahovic on a free transfer. Would like him to come but personally don't see it happening.

04 Jun 2026 07:37:28
Should have got him on loan last year. Think he would be out of our range for wages.

1

04 Jun 2026 11:52:50
Didn't a Juve CEO say he wants a massive pay rise despite already being on like £300k a week?

0

04 Jun 2026 12:42:44
As a free agent, he can demand crazy wages, will probably end up somewhere like Turkey or Saudi Arabia on 500k a week. He'd be great but I can't see this one happening personally.

0

04 Jun 2026 19:15:41
Trouble is, if you pay £300k a week and he turns out to not be able to handle the Premier League, we are hamstrung.

1

03 Jun 2026 19:07:05
Reading that Borussia Dortmund are after Iroegbunam, right price let him go.

6

03 Jun 2026 19:58:01
Straight swap for Schlotterbeck.
