I genuinely can’t believe there hasn’t been one single mention anywhere about VAR not even looking at the handball today.
Not a replay shown properly.
Not a “checked and cleared” explanation.
Just… nothing. Like it never happened.
And this is the problem with VAR now — the inconsistency is staggering. Week after week, game after game, the rules seem to bend depending on who’s involved. If that exact same incident happens to one of the so-called big six, we all know what follows: endless replays, ex-ref analysis, Sky Sports debates, podcasts arguing about arm position far beyond the weekend.
But when it’s us? Silence.
This is what winds me up the most. I can accept bad decisions — football’s always had them — but I can’t accept decisions not even being reviewed, especially when VAR was brought in to catch exactly this kind of thing.
VAR was sold as consistency and fairness. Right now it feels like another layer of protection for the established clubs, while the rest of us are expected to just get on with it and move on.
If this system is the future and is going to stay, we at least deserve transparency. Tell us it was checked. Show us the angles. Explain the decision. Don’t just sweep it under the carpet because it doesn’t fit the narrative of the team involved.
Because if that was one of them, we’d be talking about it for the next week.
{Ed025's Note - lets see if Dermot the dick head brings it up on Ref watch..

You're fussing over nothing. An apology that we normally get will do. That's the norm for us in past few seasons. Who needs 9 to 12 points swiped away from us when an apology will do.

Yeah, we’re very well practiced at accepting apologies by now.
Shame they don’t help when margins are tight and every point matters — especially when certain clubs get every angle replayed to death.
Can’t wait to frame the apologies at the end of the season next to the league table, they might be worth more than the points ?.

Completely agree, compare the penalty given against Tarkowski at Leeds and this one .
Absolutely joke of a decision and nobody talking about it .
I know we didn't play well yesterday but likely that would have given us 3 points.

We should keep the apology email safe and then use it as admission of guilt when we sue them for loss of revenue when the points costs us league position. So on that could we borrow some lawyers for Man City please?
