We walked away from the Delap deal a couple of days ago after Chelsea made it clear they wanted a sale for the player, not a loan. We only wanted a loan deal for the player & were unprepared to pay the price and will now look elsewhere for other targets.
Beto will now only be sold if a suitable replacement can be found in time… for me this is all totally unacceptable as the club should of known now for quite some time that we’ve been in desparate need a top drawer proven striker to be got in… in beggars belief… if us fans can all see it then why can’t the board? Delap was never going to be the answer for us, so now all hands to the pump right at the very end of the transfer window once more, do we ever learn?
25 Aug 2026 21:04:05
I would love to be proved wrong, but I believe we will be looking at loans and the cheapest options on deadline day.
Who would be interested in either Barry or Beto unless they are at the end of their contracts?
Our best option would be to sign either Brentford or Brighton's scouts/ recruitment department, because ours are obviously pants.
25 Aug 2026 21:20:46
Richy coming home?
25 Aug 2026 21:47:31
Let's hope so mate.
25 Aug 2026 21:50:19
Of course we are scrambling for deals and loans towards end of transfer window because we haven't got money of Big Six!
50 million for Delap would've been madness, so I'm so happy we walked away.
Look at Villa, even getting into Europe, they are having to shift their best players to be financially secure and compliant!
Buying young players, ie Aznou, Dibling, Rohl and Hackney, is the way to go.
I still feel we will strengthen before end of window, but feel too many fans gave unrealistic expectations as to where we are financially.
If we get a top 10 finish this season, which I think we will, Hey ho.
UTFT!

Deer God - Spurs desperate to get rid of Richarlison - why do we want him - he's not a number 9 which is what we need - forget about him please.
25 Aug 2026 22:07:53
Totally agree, sobs. Was ok for Everton, but he isn't the same player, and it would be a massive risk re-signing him and a mistake.
25 Aug 2026 22:08:15
Apparently George has played as a 9. Richy would be good (if he leaves the sulking at Spurs) playing on/from the left.
25 Aug 2026 22:15:00
We are definitely not there on the financials yet, next summer the increased revenues of the new stadium will be on the accounts.
It's part of the reason we have been pushing contracts to include add ons to kick the funds down to future years.
I expect some loans with options/obligations to stretch our finances, and that's why we are having to keep our powder dry until the end of the window when some selling clubs will want to move players on to get the wages off their books.
Richarlison might be one as Spurs have to trim some of their players.
Not that I will be doing cartwheels for him, but Jesus will likely see his price fall, being in the final year of his contract.
With Arsenal acquiring Konsa, I could see a late deal for Ben White being possible, but he's costly.
25 Aug 2026 19:57:12
Gooooners sniffing around Ndiaye £80 million being quoted.
25 Aug 2026 23:34:27
Would not sell at any price, but I am a realist, if someone came in with an offer over 100mill, guess we would have to consider it. That may seem a very big ask, but considering the players who have recently moved for well over that figure, this guy is a country mile ahead of those players, in raw talent, but also what he brings to any team.
25 Aug 2026 19:03:03
Leeds and Palace after O'Brien.
25 Aug 2026 19:31:44
Saw that rumour earlier, which is comical that Palace will sign a player they sold for EUR1m to Lyon 3 years ago.
Another Textor masterclass back then for them.
Palace has made some uncharacteristic transfer decisions of late.
25 Aug 2026 19:42:52
Could be another player exchange with Munoz.
25 Aug 2026 20:32:10
Yes, that makes a lot of sense, exchanging a 25 year old who can only get better and have added value for a 30 year old with little or no added value. It will not happen.
25 Aug 2026 22:12:41
I feel we got the better deal in the Johnson McNeil swap. Not sure a straight swap of OBrien for Munoz makes sense. Filling the position we desperately need, then yes, but not a straight swap.
25 Aug 2026 19:00:10
The chances we conceded and got away with, came for their two main strikers, Tarks is, with regret, a liability, to play him and not O'Brien is stubborn, beyond belief. I can see clearly why O'Brien would be inclined to leave, when a man is pick ahead of him, not on ability, but sentiment by the manager.
25 Aug 2026 19:25:54
After his first season, Tarkowski has always been a liability - involved in most of the goals we concede and usually stands looking for somebody else to blame - the standing in the 6 yard box, often in front of the keeper, drives me nuts.
His main asset is that he thinks he is better than he is. Confidence goes a long way in life. OBrien stays or goes. Picking Tarkowski every game will cost Moyes his job in my humble opinion.
25 Aug 2026 19:37:18
My biggest fear when Tarky was made club captain was that he had this undroppable status for Moyes.
But then I thought, actually Seamus didn't get played at times when we could have done with him, so maybe there is hope. Because personally, as good as Tarks has been, I feel he's dropped off dramatically last season, and watching him in that first game, he had not got back to his best.
For me, he would have cost us a game if it wasn't for Pickford and some outstanding saves.. again.
25 Aug 2026 12:58:20
Positive quotes as usual from Moyes in his Preston press conference.
25 Aug 2026 14:26:51
I think he's just hacked off at answering the same questions over and over again.
25 Aug 2026 14:53:06
I think he is to be applauded. These so-called journos are pathetic.
25 Aug 2026 08:20:10
Sorry, but not a cat in hell's chance of this happening.
David Moyes wants five new signings sealed in last-gasp Everton transfer blitz.
25 Aug 2026 09:52:49
No chance unless we've been working behind the scenes like headless chickens..
Headline this morning Forrest working on a deal for Delap ..Please don't let us go into this new season with the chuckle brothers up front.
25 Aug 2026 11:00:20
I think we will bring in 4-5 players. 2 will probably be loans. Plus I'd still expect 3, maybe 4 leaving. Could be a busy final week of the window.
25 Aug 2026 11:23:58
Well that's one way of destabilising the team, I guess.
25 Aug 2026 11:38:08
I'm sure that won't do anything to the team. What it should do is send a message that we aren't a team based on 1 win, we are a team that's improving all the time. If you're not good enough, or don't put in 100% every week, ur out.
Look at Arsenal, City, the players on their benches would start in any other team, that's why they are winners, always wanting more, always wanting better.
25 Aug 2026 11:52:43
No chance, we can't do that many medicals in a month, and take photos and videos, simply asking too much. I think 2 is pushing it.
25 Aug 2026 12:03:20
Come on Forest, do us a favour and sign this lemon!
25 Aug 2026 13:30:07
Arsenal and City pay ridiculous wages to have players sitting on the bench. And remind me how many players did Moyes drop last season when they were out of form?
25 Aug 2026 14:24:24
BB does have a point, Moyes tends to stick pretty rigidly to his preferred eleven. Will be interesting to see who loses out once Garner and Norgaard are fit.
{Ed025's Note - there are going to be a few unhappy bunnies i expect BMD..
25 Aug 2026 17:17:29
It will be Hackney and Harrison that make way. But they should get game time from the bench, otherwise it's on Moyes' head. It's a good dilemma to be in, tho. Just hope Moyes rotates them rather than sticking to his historical 11.
{Ed025's Note - i just hope the manager doesn,t just take the easy option and bench the young players because its the easy option Anom, i thought Armstrong and Hackney played very well against Palace and it would be harsh to drop them mate, we do have strength in that area and of course there will be rotation but we will see..
25 Aug 2026 17:38:08
Moyes will play who he feels is ready and offers the same standard as he takes off. Looking at alot of those player on the bench last season, they were no where near good enough, so it's no wonder he didn't change the team.
This season so far they have offered alot more, let's hope it continues, and also our squad is better, and as we've seen Moyes has been making subs, he sees the player every day, not us making up stuff that we think he should do.
25 Aug 2026 17:48:18
Disagree, there were players sitting on that bench who could have made a difference, and that was shown when he finally made changes against Spurs and the whole attitude of the team changed.
25 Aug 2026 07:49:36
Busy last few days coming up with ins and outs.
25 Aug 2026 12:39:25
Not expecting much, I think it was all talk from Kinnear, be surprised if we get 2 in.
24 Aug 2026 17:37:42
Reports that we are open to selling OBrien!
This makes no sense to me and the articles I read state it’s because he wants regular game time at CB
Also talks of how replacements in Munoz and Castagne have been identified which is just stupid!
Would leave us short at CB with just Keane.
24 Aug 2026 18:52:58
Be really really bad decision to let him go. I get it from his point of view, he wants to play, and at CB.
Or do we need cash to balance the books for further purchases?
Or is it just nonsense?
Also, if we are after this Bard chap, does that mean Myko becomes backup LB and CB?
24 Aug 2026 20:18:23
I'm hoping this is just clickbait. Would be a really bad move if we sell him. Then again, nothing surprises me with this club at the moment!
25 Aug 2026 08:41:03
Unless the lad has asked to go, he's dropped down the pecking order at right back, barring an injury he's on the bench, which might suit Keane but the lad wants to play centre defence. Is it an opportunity to cash in. We know he's not adverse to going abroad as we got him from a French club.
I'd be sorry to see him go as I believe him and JB are the future.
Maybe a loan abroad might suit us better while Tarks effectively plays out his last guaranteed starting role season, and, akin to Seamus, takes a backseat role 27/28. At least that way we can recall him in a long term injury situation.
Either way, hope it works out well for us and him.
25 Aug 2026 13:32:09
Only reason I think a loan won't work, Big C, is because we will need the money to replace him.
24 Aug 2026 17:03:01
🚨Everton are expected to listen offers for Jake O’Brien with the Defender attracting interest from clubs in England and Europe.
O’Brien is keen to be a regular starter in his preferred central defensive role
(Source - Paddy Boyland, The Athletic )
Wouldn’t be suprised if he did want to leave.
24 Aug 2026 17:55:10
I wouldn't particularly care if he did tbh. Nothing against him, but there are much better CB's out there and his sample size for us a CB is small, even though our results have been good when he has played there.
24 Aug 2026 17:55:30
Can see Myko being back up CB and getting in a new LB and RB. Delap will replace Beto.
24 Aug 2026 17:56:21
Saw that. Think this could be a result of Tarks getting captain. Wouldn't surprise me if O'Brien thinks he's either gonna play rb or not at all. I partly understand Tarks being made captain, but this may be the result of it, which is wrong for our future, I reckon.
24 Aug 2026 18:09:54
Big mistake if this happens.
24 Aug 2026 19:41:46
Dreadful if this happens. Making Tarks captain and playing him ahead of O'Brien despite poor performance after poor performance last season is the classic 'experienced head' tripe you only see from the likes of Moyes and Dyche.
Don't blame Job if he wants to go. In the prime of his career, and he'll know he's a better centre back than the one who is now nailed on to play in front of him, so what's the point in staying.
Need to ride this season out and then appoint a modern (last 20 years) manager. The Moyes/Dyche mentality of "old heads", "wise heads", "experienced pro", "Premier League ready", "Premier League fit" is a dead duck.
24 Aug 2026 22:53:16
If we're serious about getting to the next level then I've no problems waving bye-bye to O'Brien. He's average at CB at best, no other top half PL would want him. His positioning and reactions aren't up to scratch, we could do with better.
25 Aug 2026 08:35:59
Have you even looked at our results when the lad has played centre back?
24 Aug 2026 13:51:17
Never heard of this guy left back apparently.
Everton in talks to sign Melvin Bard after Nice enquiry – report.
24 Aug 2026 15:19:58
I read serious negotiations are taking place and Bard is up for the move, if we get him and Doue at right back, this takes us to the next step up UTFT COYB.
24 Aug 2026 15:42:09
Azuno for 10 million seems like a great buy if this comes off - seriously, I don't get why we signed him?
24 Aug 2026 16:00:18
Watched him, he is aggressive and, yes, better than Myko. Must mean Moyes is happy with Ruhl, Garner, O'Brien, Patterson at RB.
24 Aug 2026 16:32:32
Can't see why we wouldn't sign a right back too if the right one is available and affordable.
24 Aug 2026 17:18:55
Bard could be a massive upgrade, he's like a balance between the defence minded Myko and attacking promise of Aznou!
More dynamic and marauds forward with purpose, good ball retention and shorter, precise passing compared to long balls from Myko which often seem more hopeful than planned!
Good creator of chances as well.
Defensively sound, which is what I feel Aznou lacks currently, tenacious tackler and more interested in stepping into the tackles and intercept to help transition the play from defence to attack!
Whereas Myko will sit back and drop regularly.
If we signed him, given the high percentage of our attacks that came down the left side last season, I feel they would come to better results with a productive overlapping fullback.
Would expect this to lead to a loan for Aznou to get game time and work on his defensive game, hopefully come back a better player like Branthwaite did.
